As far as I know, most grey imports are brought in partly dissassembled to avoid high taxation and then basically put back together in thailand. Which means some interesting pricing on nearly new luxury cars.

BUT I have also heard some horror stories about owners finding out that they owe tax due to the original import being deemed as dodgy..

How to know what you are buying?

Get the customs receipts and verify with customs department that all taxes were properly paid.
