Bangkok parks to stay open for Loy Krathong

BANGKOK: -- The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration will open its 29 public parks for the people to celebrate Loy Kratong Day on November 6, Governor Sukhumbhand Paribatra said on Thursday.

The parks will be open from 3pm to midnight. He stressed that selling of alcohol, food and Kratong will not allowed in the parks.

Firecrackers and fireworks will also be banned, Sukhumbhand said.

The parks that are open for Loy Kratong celebrations include Suan Lumpini, Chatuchak, Saranrom, Serithai and Santi Chaiprakarn.

BMA has ordered the installation of more lights and strengthening of piers in the parks to ensure safety.
