laolover88 Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 With the advent of Christmas I was thinking about what to order for the kids from the UK. I know you cannot order Geese, Pheasants and Lobsters, which would normally suffice. A Turkey I think I can find here ; pheasants and red currant jelly?: No. Smoked Salmon? Yes. Makro has. A decent ham ? No! Crackers? Not sure if they are arms or ammunition. Probably cannot as they contain Gunpowder.? So I went to the Thai website which sets out regulations on imports. These are among the prohibited imports: The whole list can be found here!: http://www.royalmail.com/thailand Thou shall not send: Horsehair and horsehair waste Animals: elephants, horses, cows, buffaloes, donkeys, mules, goats, sheep, dogs, cats, rabbits, monkeys, gibbons.....and presumably badgers, weasels and ferrets? Animal sperm. ???Human???? Cotton wool can only be imported on presentation of phytosanitary certificate from country of origin. Nuclear reactors, (like that one)!!!!! boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof Nuclear reactors, fuel bars and parts thereof. Diesel engine with single horizontal cylinder, capacity 331-1100 cc, gasoline cylinder engine with capacity 41-240 cc, and motorcycle engine with capacity under 250 cc. Chain saw and parts thereof. Intaglio printing machinery. Electronic saw and parts thereof.????????? Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; clocks and watches; musical instruments; parts and accessories thereof Contact lenses and medical and surgical instruments and apparatus. Colour scanners. Multi-colour Xerox machines.??????? Arms and ammunition; parts and accessories thereof Miscellaneous manufactured articles Toys, games and sports requisites; parts and accessories thereof??????? Playing cards.?????? So it looks like I am OK with the Mincemeat. Looks like I can import wives, though?! 2
rak sa_ngop Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Think twice about mincemeat. Originally centuries ago it was a savoury treat made with beef or venison meat. These days some brands may still contain beef suet although others brands substitute vegetable suet. No animal products allowed to be sent to Thailand by the Royal Mail under any circumstances!
