Hi guys,

I'm 27 y.o with Spanish passport. From what I have read, I am eligible for VOA. More than anything I just want to post this before I book my return flight back into Thailand, just in case I have missed anything.

My travel plan is as follows:

Nov 12/13 - Arrive into Bangkok, get VOA, have flight booked out to Yangon (Myanmar) for Nov 26. Get visa for Myanmar while in Bangkok.

Feb 2 - Fly from Yangon into either Chiang Mai or Bangkok, stay for anywhere up to 3-4 weeks.

I would really appreciate it if you guys could put my mind at ease that there is nothing wrong with this plan, that relying on two VOA's in quick succession (and possibly flying into Chiang Mai airport second time around) won't pose any problems.

Also, while I plan on having outbound flights on each occasion I enter Thailand, I am just wondering how strict are they generally regarding having purchased flights showing that you will be exiting the country?

Cheers.

You will not have a visa on arrival, you will have a visa exempt entry. These are not the same thing.

There is no problem in what you want to do

Oh sorry yeah, visa exempt is what I meant! What's the exemption period on both occasions for Spanish passport holder? 1 month in each case?? Thanks for your response!

More often it's the airline that could insist that you have a flight booked out if you want to board a flight into Thailand without a visa in your passport, although Immigrations could question you about your travel plans as well.

Will you have a flight already booked out at the end of the "3-4 weeks?" Doesn't sound like it's a definite booking, but at least if you have something booked to exit Thailand there won't be a problem.

If you decide to stay beyond the 30 day permission to stay you get from the visa exempt entry when you return from Burma, you can extend it once for an additional 30 days at an immigrations office in Thailand.
