Bangkok governor rushed the set up of CCTV cameras

BANGKOK, 4 November 2014 (NNT) – The governor of Bangkok has asked all related agencies to hasten the installation of CCTV cameras in risky areas within 21 November 2014.

The Bangkok Governor M.R. Sukhumbhand Paribatra today presided over the meeting of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) executives.

The meeting reported the progress of social organizing projects for the safety in Bangkok to the governor, such as landscape renovation, and the installation of street lamps in 283 risky areas, in accordance with the government’s policy.

The Bangkok governor urged the Public Works Department to gather details and note any complications during the project’s implementation so that the project may be completed within the planned deadline.

The Public Works Department had already completed: 96% of the street lamps installation on the main roads, 76% of the installation in secondary roads, and 100% of the installation at bus stops. This makes the overall progress of the project 79.8 percent complete. The department will then set up more street lamps in small parks within Bangkok.

Regarding the installation of CCTV cameras in risky areas, the department had completed installation in 164 places, while another 119 locations were undergoing the installation process. This project’s deadline is on the 21 November 2014.
