turkey-3.jpg

PATTAYA: -- Emergency Services, including the Pattaya Sea Rescue Unit, dealt with a marine incident on Tuesday afternoon which resulted in a Turkish National sustaining a minor injury.

The incident occurred as the group returned to the Bali Hai Port at the southern end of Pattaya Beach after spending the day “Island Hopping” on a speed boat named “JaiJai”. As they returned to the Port, a crack appeared in the Hull, which the driver claimed was due to rough seas.

Everyone on-board was wearing life jackets and help was only minutes away in the form of a pleasure boat, who rescued the Turkish Tourists and boat driver. One of the tourists was slightly injured and was taken to Hospital, but was released a few hours later.

What a shock, another boat sinking in Pattaya.

What was shocking to me was that they actually had life jackets.

Glad nobody drowned or went missing.

From the original article: the hull of the boat had just been repaired which may be connected to the incident

If that is so, I wonder if the repairers have already fled from Pattaya?

Lucky nobody died from this incident

Thailand is definitely a tourist accident hub.

a crack appeared in the Hull, which the driver claimed was due to rough seas.

What a total jerk !

They have.

That is why it is all that happens.

Helicopters dropping out of the sky, trains being derailed, ferry's sinking, lorries and buses running of the road, buildings collapsing during construction, accidental drownings, people falling off balcony's, tourist and local murders, automobile and motorcycle carnage, aircraft running out of runways, and the band plays on.

The tourists were NOT asked to pay for the crack in the hull so stop asking the same silly question please.

No Turkish delight therecoffee1.gif

yesterday I noticed that one of the ganster boys that was released from jail a few months ago and has been living on the beach since has now been given a boat, so this guy with no experience at all now has sole charge of a boat that carrys 30 people, he can barely figure out how to anchor it on the beach

a crack appeared in the Hull, which the driver claimed was due to rough seas.

What a total jerk !

Actually....he's probably said the right thing.......these so called speed boats are plywood replicas ...built of crap cheap plywood.....very poor structural integrity and are just basic boats that wouldn't pass any survey anywhere

These boats are very poorly constructed and often overpowered and overloaded. when you add the cowboy driver factor problems are inevitable

Here we go again, another boat sinking. When are they ever going to regulate these so called boat captains and have regular boat inspections. Peoples lives are at risk, but they don't care about that once they get their money. Disgraceful.angry.gif.pagespeed.ce.l3zkt7JShR.gif

I wonder if they got their money back?

As they were wearing life vests there was really little risk other than be hit by the numerous speeding boats piloted by morons...

As for the cause of the sinking one must question the inspecting of the boat for sea worthiness on a regular basis, or it could have been due to the scraping coral while island hopping, fibreglass dose not fair well when in contact with coral... nor does the coral.

They were actually wearing life vests before the incident? That is unusual.

Thailand is definitely a tourist accident hub.

Yup and the "authorities" seem not to care, despite what the interim PM claims in the media.

I think it was an American President who said "speak softly but carry a big stick" but here, in Thailand, it appears the other way around! coffee1.gif

Thais are the masters of "cheap-talk".

Another post removed for spouting nonsense.

Just another day in the 3rd world! TiT

We need a crack down on these shoddy crack repairs, thailand could become the hub of cracks.

Presumably on the "recommendation" of the guy who "repaired" the boat wink.png
