Lost passport / visa and extension of stay

Featured Replies

The 90 day reports mean nothing to arrival/departure immigration. It is not their duty to enforce them.

When you enter the country your report is due 90 days from that date.

If you get an ETD (emergency passport) from the British Consular Facility in Bangkok, you should be able to get the extension stamp(s) restored to the ETD by Thai Immigration (depending on the area yo

  • First thing you have to do is file a report with the police or your embassy will not talk you.. Take the report to your embassy and start your process.

  • I can confirm that the current turn around for a UK passport through VFS, Suk Soi 13 is under 2 weeks, providing of course your application includes all relevant data. I applied for my replacement on

Hi Ubonjoe, just wanted to ask you again about this. I have an extension of stay and re-entry permit in my passport. But, like I say, the 90 days one is missing although I have a print out from immigration showing my next report date. What exactly DO they check at the airport and when do they check it?

As I wrote before immigration at the airport or border is not interested in anything to do with 90 day reports. You can take everything to do with them out of your passport if you want to.

Yep I get they don't check 90 days but what DO they check?

Anyone else talk me through the immigration process at the airport after check-in?

The same as when you entered.

Now they check if you are the person in the passport and if you are wanted or not by the police or barred from elaving the country by a court order. And of course they check if you have avalid permision to stay and are not illegally in the country or on overstay.

They also take your departure card in.

If everything is fine, you are allowed to leave and procede to the security check.

Immigration will just look at your extension of stay stamp to confirm you are not on overstay and stamp you out of the country.

I assume you got a new TM6 departure card at immigration when you got your stamps.

Hi Ubonjoe, no I did not get a new TM6 card when I was at immigration. Immigration didn't mention it. Do I need one? If so, how do I get one?

Ask for one at the the airline check in desk. They normally have them. Then fill it out and give it to the immigration officer,

Thanks Ubonjoe, don't want to leave anything to chance. Apart from the airport is there anywhere else that may have TM6 cards?

They have them at departure immigration also.

You could get one at an immigration office. I am surprised that immigration did not give you a new one when you got your stamps.

Yeah, I think (another) trip to immigration tomorrow is needed. Is there any form I need to complete or documents I need to take for it?

I wouldn't worry about it. Just wait until you get to the airport. People show up at the airport all the time without them. That is one of the reasons they have them at the check in counters.

Hi Ubonjoe. Yep, me again. I'm toying with the idea of going to immigration tomorrow. What form would I need to complete (if any) to get a replacement? Thanks.

As has been said, not needed to go.

ut if you want, no forms are needed. Just your passport to find the number of your lost arrival card.

Yeah, thing is my arrival card is registered against my old passport. So I assume they will look for my arrival card against my old passport number?

Can anyone shed any light as I would like some clarity?

Your old an new passport records are combined now since you went to immigration to get your stamps restored in your new passport. They will not even look for your old TM6 number.

If I had not mentioned the TM6 in an earlier post you would have gone to the airport without one. Then when you checked in for your flight the person checking you in would probably of noticed you did not have one and would of given you a new one to fill out.
