Thai Visa Service
They said i will be refused in other countries because of my thailand refusal stamp. They dont want to let me fly anywhere else than france. I think they're lying to you. I could be wrong but it's worth double checking. why you keep questioning the OP. Over the last couple of month we had many enquiries from people stuck in Airport, majority of people were send back home as the airline refused to take them back from the place they came from. Example you fly Cambodian Air from Phnom Penh, than the representative of that Airline will arrange a ticket with a "friendly" Airline to return to your home country. Immigration does not care and again, in most cases, the people had to pay for their own ticket. I think Thai Immigration is looking to much YouTube, they try to copy Border Security of UK, Australia or US and shoot themselves in the leg.
Popular Post ATF
Someone read the reason for me it says insufficient funds. But the officer really got angry when i couldnt read thai. I had 9k baht on me a business world mastercard fully loaded and a kasikorn atm. I believe only cash counts. If i had enough cash i believe he would have said something else. I'm sure if you asked to speak with him privately the 9k would have relaxed him enough to turn a blind eye to your reading skills.
gregk0543
Plan a Dont buy the ticket till you have spoken to your embassy. They cant force you. Plan b buy a ticket back to hk and refuse to pay for more. They will let you go there. Pass the buck.
HeijoshinCool
Well, Walen, here's the start of your business headed south …. all the way back to Oz. Immigration are now making their own rules, at each individual office, and at the airport.

Popular Post LivinLOS
He says studing Thai for 6months but has a car to sale I have to wonder what popped up on that computer when his name was run thru the scanner. I suspect he has been here longer than a few months. If his story is to be believed, and at this stage I have my doubts... It shouldnt matter how long he has been here before getting an ED.. you can be here 10 years but the clock on learning should only start at the point the ED starts.

jpinx
The immigration officer can refuse entry without providing a reason. He is the sole arbiter of your entry application, so it is really important to not annoy him or challenge his decision in the early stages of the confrontation interview. thaipak
Dear All I went through almost half the answers, but not a single person replying has asked the gentleman in question why does he need to carry an education visa, why is he learning the language, since when he has been learning and what is the source of his income in Thailand. If he is staying here as a student may be he is not a bonafide student. I hope he is a student but there are many questions which come in mind. He being denied entry is the prerogative of the immigration officer in any country, which is usually not over ruled by other officers. IMHP if he is a long time resident and intend to keep on living here he should get the correct visa which usually involves a lot of money and paper work.

Thai Immigration can do as they please and little point arguing with them. Besides, the OP had, apparently, has already purchased a ticket to France. Though, I fear there's more to this story than meets the eye.

Aren't you supposed to provide proof of sufficient funds at entry to be able to support yourself? 20k cash I believe and they don't accept credit cards or foreign currency. They asked me on my last re-entry to show it. I'm guessing not being able to read or write Thai had nothing to do with your refusal.
culicine
What if the ED visa is for doing a degree in an International program? They are not doing Thai classes so may not have the necessary Thai skills.

BestBitterPhuket
The correct answer is probably that it is the Thai immigration's prerogative to chose where they will "send" you. The safest option is always your home country. If you go somewhere else, there is a risk you are denied entry there and sent back to Thailand.

DrTuner
This time it seems there actually is a follow-through after toughening the ED rules and with the overstay rules being changed. The IDC thread seems to be an indication immigration has started enforcing things. Remains to be seen for how long.
charliebadenhop
Wow, being that I am on an ED visa and currently outside the country visiting family, I find this thread really disturbing. Seems beyond belief that they can just deny entry, without first making clear rules about some sort of testing etc. The part about- Can never enter the country again on your current passport, also seems really out of control to me. "Mr. X, even though we have no clear testing procedure, one of our officers deemed that your Thai language ability was not as good as he was expecting, so... You will not be able to enter Thailand for the next 8 years, unless you purposely lose your current passport and get a new one issued."!!!! Can this really be happening? Wow, scary!

Popular Post siampolee
i'm of the opinion that due to the somewhat high profile and aggressive promotion of their services and the avenues they could open to assist their students to obtain an Ed Visa might well have attracted the attention of the immigration department and as such this particular ''educational''establishment is now on the hit list. Much the same situation as happened a few years or more back concerning a somewhat creative visa run service operated by a Scandinavian gentleman. Again the comments made in this forum and in the public domain by certain parties will not have helped the situation either, (J) spill the beans and a price has to be paid to clean up the mess. Indeed it would seem as if some of these characters have been hoisted by their own petards as have their compatriots too. mitsubishi
Johnny, I would have asked to see a supervisor, to see where he would stand - it's totally ok to do so. Sorry to hear you got refused. Btw which airport was this? I know in the USA with a proper visa of any kind (not the VWP though) you can appeal the decision and take it to a judge if DHS refuse you entry. Does Thailand have an appeals process also?? I'd have asked to speak to a supervisor, sorry to hear you got stung, 6 months is not enough to learn a language like a native speaker.

Kerryd
I'm guessing that an ED visa would still require a Re-Entry permit (single or multi) in order to remain valid ? I've been told since day 1 that if I were to go out of the country without that, when I returned my Non-O(A) would become invalid, regardless of how long it had remaining on it. Is that the same for the ED Visas ? And do the Immigration officers really have time to do ad-hoc language testing at the desk when the lines seem to stretch all the way back out onto the concourse every time I go through there lately (in the cattle class section at least - though sometimes even the Premium lanes are pretty busy as well).
