Father's Day

Featured Replies

I'm looking for ideas or suggestions as to what to do on Fathers Day / Wan Por / วันพ่อ on Friday. Its actually me and a Thai girl that I'm looking for ideas for. Have spoken to Thai people and they've suggested Sanam Luang for fireworks although assumedly this is at night time. Really just looking to have a good time, maybe some music, good food, good atmosphere etc. Anyone know anywhere good or worth checking out? Thanks

Jeez, you might want to get away from the computer, throw open a window and look outside. You are in Thailand.

But, seriously, it's the holiday starting off a long weekend. Good spirit will abound everywhere. So, make a game of it.

Get on the BTS and pick a station with a coin toss. Then set off arm in arm to explore with a smile on your lips, a light in your eyes and a song in your heart. Report back in a couple of hours if you didn't manage to have a swell time.

I really like the way Thai people celebrate Fathers Day. I believe we westerners (Certainly from the UK) could learn from the way this is celebrated here. I have just been to a wonderful Fathers day celebrations and it really brings home the message of a special bond Fathers have or should have with their children. Well done Thailand on this.thumbsup.gif

To the Op I agree with the other posts go and enjoy and for me do anything that you like.

I just got a garland and a wai from my wife's daughter which was totally unexpected...

'father's day' indeed...
