Popular Post taony Posted December 9, 2014 Popular Post Posted December 9, 2014 Wasn't it just yesterday that the date was set for February? 3
Popular Post mcm991 Posted December 9, 2014 Popular Post Posted December 9, 2014 There was never any chance that this trial was going to wait until after the Inquest in the UK before getting started. Too risky. 14

See you soon for another great diving holiday on yoir beautiful coral reefs and sun kissed beaches. Amen. Not better for the 2 Burmese guys if this is rushed through in an attempt to secure/ white wash a murder conviction and possible execution, but please don't let this get in way of you having a good holiday in that shit hole of KT 65
Popular Post Boater Posted December 9, 2014 Popular Post Posted December 9, 2014 was most likely brought forward so to have the trail finished before the official report is released by the UK on Jan 5th ! 20
Popular Post petedk Posted December 9, 2014 Popular Post Posted December 9, 2014 I hope they remember to tell the defendants so they can be there this time. Yes, it's probably brought forward so that it is completed before the UK inquest gets going. Guilty, executed and forgotten. mai pen rai 4
Popular Post thesetat2013 Posted December 9, 2014 Popular Post Posted December 9, 2014 Good, the quicker this is put to bed the better for everyone. Happy New Year Koh Tao. See you soon for another great diving holiday on yoir beautiful coral reefs and sun kissed beaches. Amen.So what you are sayin is that while the prosecutors took months before they finally accepted the evidence that the defence will now only have a couple of weeks to review about 6000 pages and find enough proof to properly defend these guys? It seems to me that 3 weeks is not sufficient time to do what is needed to even attempt to show innocence. This is justice thai style and the men are not being treated and will not get a fair hearing 24
Popular Post Fat Haggis Posted December 9, 2014 Popular Post Posted December 9, 2014 Why the sudden rush? 3

Popular Post thailauren Posted December 9, 2014 Popular Post Posted December 9, 2014 Something stinks. I remember a wealthy person ran over a policemen in his farrari and they failed to prosecute until it was too late...... but then again i could be wrong. 5
Popular Post Soutpeel Posted December 9, 2014 Popular Post Posted December 9, 2014 Why the sudden rush?Secure the conviction get them executed before the inquest in the UK and if it has been a stitch up " velly Solly we already kill for them, we tink they kill farang mai pen rai" 7
Popular Post angiolo Posted December 9, 2014 Popular Post Posted December 9, 2014 Now I am really worried for those young scapegoats. 5
Wilsonandson Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 DM07 you know too much! Seriously, my sense of humour is all I have to keep me sain. I have posted for months on these murders and really I want closure, I want it erased from my mind. Those graphic photos haunt me. R.I.P Hannah. R.I.P David you are angels in heaven now. I'm still going back to Koh Tao the murder or murderers want stop me. I love the island too. Heal Koh Tao. Heal people of Koh Tao. Amen
Popular Post BuckBee Posted December 9, 2014 Popular Post Posted December 9, 2014 Amazing how quick a case can be dealt with when it wanted ! I am in no way implying the 2 burmese are guilty or innocent but with the way it now playing with the courts it looks very unfavourable for them :-/ 3
Popular Post mcm991 Posted December 9, 2014 Popular Post Posted December 9, 2014 Not exactly fair to defence. They can't possibly review the prosecutors files in time to mount any robust defence. It is only 2 weeks away. 3

Amen Let the <deleted> place sink into the ocean more like it, the locals showed themselves for what they really are when they led the police in circles. Bunch of cowards holding ceremonies at temples while at the same time not giving the police a crumb to help the investigations. <deleted> the lot of em', I will never step foot on that island again in my life and if some more foreigners had a bit of respect for fellow tourists and ex-pats they would do the exact same thing until the Thai government got the message - we're not here to get ripped off, assaulted, raped or murdered. Bringing the case forward by two months is an utter disgrace and thee is no justification for it at all. 30
bannork Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 If found guilty, the suspects can appeal to the Appeals Court and then the Supreme Court. This will take years. The inquest verdict in the UK will certainly happen much sooner than the verdicts in these 2 courts.
jdinasia Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Why the sudden rush?Secure the conviction get them executed before the inquest in the UK and if it has been a stitch up " velly Solly we already kill for them, we tink they kill farang mai pen rai" As there is always 30 days to appeal, this scenario doesn't fit. Since the UK inquest report is due during the trial it indicates more confidence in the case and not less.

It's alarming that they brought this forward 2 months how on earth are the defence team supposed to prepare a case when they're still not Aware of the prosecutions evidence? It doesn't need a conspiracy theorist to see what's going on here and fair trial based on evidence and counter evidence isn't on the cards here, why bother with a trail when the result is already known Guilty and sentenced to death and the sentence carried out within 24-48 hours after the verdict!! I'll eat humble pie by the truck full if it's not along those lines !!!! ? 2
phuketandsee Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Not exactly fair to defence. They can't possibly review the prosecutors files in time to mount any robust defence. It is only 2 weeks away. Maybe they can since the RTP "evidence" is so skimpy.

The inquest verdict in the UK will certainly happen much sooner than the verdicts in these 2 courts. And due to the holidays and week ends there will only be 4 days of trial before the 5th Jan..............I am not sure how long Murder trials take in Thailand but I doubt it will be over in 4 days............or will it ????
greenchair Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Not exactly fair to defence. They can't possibly review the prosecutors files in time to mount any robust defence. It is only 2 weeks away. Actually it says the prosecutor will present witness and evidence 7 days before the start of trial. So that will be the first defense will know what they are fighting. Defense will have 7 days for 1 lawyer to get through 900 pages and prepare.

Thats the thing if found guilty before the inquest .even if the inquest has clear evidence they are innocent, they would stay in prison for many months waiting for appeal. Remember the mushroom pickers. Everybody knew they were innocent. But oh no could not let them out, must follow protocol and wait for the system to get thier finger out.
