I am going to Canada and was wondering if you can buy Canadian travelers cheques here

Not sure how available travelers' cheques denominated in Canadian dollars would be, but you could get US dollar cheques which would be readily accepted for purchases, payments or converted to Cdn $ cash in Canada and easier to liquidate if you end up back home with unused cheques following your travels.
