Electronic Drum Kits (beginner) - where to buy

Featured Replies

Hi All

My son wants a drum kit for Christmas and after getting over the initial horror, it does seem that an electronic drum kit may fit the bill.

There's some beginner sets here: http://www.musicradar.com/tuition/drums/electronic-drum-kits-6-best-beginner-sets-in-the-world-today-177956/7

Any idea of where I could buy something like this in Bangkok?

Thanks

Pedro

Not sure about BKK, but you could order from Lazada - cash on delivery - http://www.lazada.co.th/shop-electronic-drums/

The stockist appears to be this company and appears to be BKK based, so perhaps you can go direct if they have a showroom - https://www.facebook.com/pmsmusic1/info?tab=page_info

Excellent - just what I'm looking for....

Even have one for under 10K - although would like to hear it first... http://www.pmsmusicshop.com/store/product/view/New_DB_Digital_Drum_B03-25773932-th.html

Thanks a lot!

I don't know of a place specifically, but I know there are quite a few music shops in Central World. Fortune Town seems to have several also.

My friend got his off Ebay and had it shipped here. Worked out OK for him.

eBay and other online vendors have made it so easy for people to buy whatever they want while sitting at home. Even if you prefer to go out in the market, you can always do an online survey of the equipment you're looking for to get an idea of the price range. This way you would avoid getting ripped off.

Good idea.

I play drums and have a full kit and despite living fairly remote...drums are loud and annoy the crap out of people...especially my wife...and my dogs...

Just stay away from plastic pads. They don't last. Rubber is best, (last long time) despite the resistance and bounce.

I'm not sure that cheap electronic kits will have multi sensors - so if you hit a cymbal on the top and the edge it should sound different, or hit the snare drum in the middle and edge it should sound different. Maybe not that important for a starter kit, but worth noting if comparing a couple of kits.

Hope you kid has fun...
