It is half price for over 75 and only for 5 years https://www.passports.gov.au/Web/Newppt/Facts.aspx Facts about passports Australian passports are issued only to Australian citizens Adult passports are valid for 10 years A Senior's Passport, valid for five years, is available to Australian citizens aged 75 years and over for half the cost of a standard passport. Children's passports are valid for five years Application forms are available from most Australia Post outlets. Apply early for your passport. The Australian Passport Office aims to post out your passport within 10 working days if all requirements have been met, however, in busy periods it may take longer. When you lodge your application form, check for any variation to the standard turnaround time and don't forget to allow for postage time. Edited December 17, 201411 yr by ripstanley

December 17, 201411 yr I get 6150 using the banks currency calculator. Of course it will depend upon the rate the embassy uses.
December 17, 201411 yr I just renewed mine. Cost me 6,850. I don't think they adjust the price to daily currency changes, only once per month.
December 17, 201411 yr You can also renew on-line. First time on-line you need a few more details but quite easy. Second and later renewals on-line very easy. (I've done it three times total.) And I've found that the staff on Sathorn Road very helpful and friendly, by phone, to explain if needed.
December 17, 201411 yr Suppose they reckon that if your 75, you probably won't be NEEDING a Passport for more than 5 years !
