30 day on entry by land?

Featured Replies

Is it still an option to go in and out overland to Cambodia to get 30 days?

Edited by justaphase

It depends on your nationality.

If you are a national of one of the G7 countries you will get 30 days. Rusians and a few other nationalities will also get 30 days. But the majority of nationalities will only get 15 days.

You will only get 15 days at a border crossing unless you are from a G7 country.

I cannot answer you question about whether you can get a visa exempt entry unless you provide some more information. What kind of entry are you on now? Are going to stay out the country overnight?

If you are already on a visa exempt entry you can apply for a 30 day extension at immigration.

I'm British so I'm OK there. Just wondered if the borders were all open and OK.

The border crossings are all open. They never closed.

I'm on a 3 month imm o based on my kids. Extended 2 months already. Just want 30 days for now.

You should not have a problem getting a 30 day visa exempt entry since your have not been on one already.

Ban Laem seems to be the most friendly crossing from reports i have seen. Palin not so good. Poi Pet can be picky and is busier than the others.

Thanks ubonjoe. Bang laem it is.

Like justaphase, I was wandering if I'll have any issues trying to get a 30 day visa exempt entry in Mae Sai just after the New Year.

My previous visa was a Single Entry Non O (based on having a kid), and I've already extended this by 60 days already at the local Immigration Office. I hold a British passport.

You can get a 30 day visa exempt entry because you are not on one now. Visa entries and extensions are considered when doing one.

Unlike rob69 I have a previous overstay of 18 months. Paid the 20k and came in on the 'o'. I know its not good, are they likely to refuse?

Would it be safer to wait until I can get another o? Albeit going 5 days overstay due to fund transfer coming late on the 5th and visa up on the 1st.

Headache.

You could apply for a 7 day extension, pay 1900 baht and be given 7 days to leave the country.

That would be better than doing a border crossing if you want to go out for another non-o visa.

Your previous overstay would not be taken into account if you want to do the 30 day entry.

I'd rather get the 30 days if the overstay things not likely to be a problem. The van to bang laem all in is only 2300.

The overstay will not be an issue since you have been on non-o visa entry.
