Is Yingluck the woman of the year too?

She's something else of the year.
Yep, Pheu Thai walkie talky Barbie puppet of the year.... Edited by MaxLee

An amnesty bill brought the previous government down but the one that the junta wrote into their interim charter will bring the country together. Different time different stroke.

Yingluck amnesty bill was solely to purify his brother.

Prayuth amnesty bill was solely to save Thai from killing each other, return happiness for Thai, and most important of all, advance the country to be a developed world, on par with Korea, China, and USA.

Lol....everyone on this forum will be long reduced to ashes before Thailand is advanced to a position '' On par with Korea,China and USA ''. Keep dreaming.

For me I'd rather see the people and the press free to express their options instead of living in fear if they do.

I find it interesting that, holding this view, you feel that Thaksin governments were better - considering the intimidation of the press and the extra-judicial killings that happened

Oh, right, selective memory.

I love this guy. He doesn't get everything right but all his intentions are for the peace and betterment of Thailand and its people. It's not an easy job he has. He has my respect.

+1. That's exactly it, and it's what the haters can't seem to understand (that, and their own selective memories)

The concern is much more focused on the terrible damage his government is doing to the country - economically, socially, politically.

Seeing as to how unconcerned you and most other vocal critics on this forum were about the damage Thaksin was doing to not just this country - economically, socially, politically - but also by making a mockery of democratic institutions - your 'concerns' carry very little weight, and are relegated to the level of hypocrisy.

'happiness', ... well for their 'friends', yes. For the country? They don't care about the country.

... and you know this how? Oh, right, another unsupported assertion. As usual.

See the attitude adjustments are working out well for the junta on here.

Now we have posters stating it's not the thai people against the coup but TVF posters.

Yes we let's see there's us and most of the rest of the world.

When I ask my thai friends they just say we have to tolerate it to the next election.Cant do anything till next election.

If you guys think dragging off students for the three fingered salute or eating a sandwich in public as an act of defiance is right then go right with your junta love in.

For me I'd rather see the people and the press free to express their options instead of living in fear if they do.

Who knows how many unreported acts against the people have actually happened.

But do carry on

"When I ask my thai friends they just say we have to tolerate it to the next election.Cant do anything till next election."

It has not brought peace to the Thailand that was ruled by the Shins, so why will Red Rule work next time??? except for Thaksin? and the the Shins!

jeffybkk knows it all cause his wife told him,the farmers are happy...his wife told himwe are all freeeee...his wife told himanyone starting to see a pattern here?when you've got actual thai male friends in issarn, not your wifes family, cousins, uncles, aunts, dogs, ones with good businesses who dont like being told "dont worry be happy"get back to me.

Why u so QUANTEEN!! U think I only have my wife as friend, I have been living here past 8 years, I also have many real male and frmale friends from all over Thailand with various occupations from business people to farmer's son and daughter.. They are all so nice and accommodating. Not as what many Thai Basher TV members thought otherwise. I do get in touch with them quite frequently as Thailand have a lot of national holidays to catch up with them. Not everyone negative thought same as you.

At least there is no more political protest, no violence, consumer confidence higher than ever and business getting better which Abihisit and Ying Luck can't achieve.

Exactly. For that, and the other achievements, Prayuth certainly deserves the "Man of the Year" award - heck, regardless how you feel about him, you'd have to agree that Prayuth has had the most and the most significant impact on Thailand in 2014.

You do realize that not all the polls you read are 100% genuine?.
Who care about the polls? Myself, family members, friends lives getting better after he took over. During protest, it was really tough in many ways, not enough income, lost of jobs etc. Now is free and easy.

You are aware that yourself, family members and friends are hardly representative for 60 million Thais, are you?!

Are you aware that your negative thought does not represent 60 mil Thai as well? As far as I m concern, me and the people that i knew is happy and content. That is good enough.

Ah, yes Baboon, the old "just you wait and see..." argument - usually employed when someone doesn't have any real facts at their disposal, and has to resort to weak emotional FUD. Surprised you didn't invoke Godwin.

There must be somebody in the Kingdom who has done good and is more worthy praise than a man who deposes an elected government. Anyone have any ideas as to an alternative to the "good" general ?

There's a guy down the chip shop who thinks he's Elvis. Gets my vote every year.

How can any person who is above the intelligence level of a moron not be anti-junta. Yes, Thaksin and then his half brained sister did, and was, doing unprecedented damage to country. But an <deleted> junta in the 21st century? In a country that claims to be SE Asia's oldest, and most developed democracy? And don't be fooled by the propaganda that is spoon fed to the sheeple every night. Their so called reforms are akin to cheaply whitewashing an old and rotten wall, when in fact they are actually just another brick in it.

So what's next - a North Korea type state? How about a bit of Stalinism or perhaps Maoism? Knee Rouge? Lots of Thais would love any of those. Especially the increasing gangs of thugs you now spot everywhere - the perfect Recruits for a People's Police. No wonder the Japanese are now investing heavily in Indonesia - and they are even more xenophobic than the Thais.

I hope all you handsum man Farangs have an escape plan. If not - more fool you!

He would get my vote any year ...keep it up General , you are doing a great job

For those of slightly higher intelligence than "Kevvy", remember it's against forum rules to flame[emoji12]

The general may just sneak into 3rd on his side of the political divide. Second would have to be Kanman Thep who would be just behind the yellow with the biggest balls - Chitpas
