Non-B to visa on arrival to Non-B again?

Featured Replies

Hello

I have a 3 month NON-B that expiring at the moment and just went to immigration to get a 7 days extension. Now I have to leave and get a new one year visa and my problem is that the accountant doesn't have the papers ready since they're on holiday. Can I go out of the country just to get a 30 day and then go in 30 days to get a new NON-B when all the paperworks are done, or is that a bad idea?

Or should i stay and get overstay until the accountant is back from holiday and go then?

You could get a visa exempt entry since you are not on one now. If you do a border crossing you will only get 15 days unless you are from a G7 country.

I do not recommend going on overstay.

I had the same problem earlier this year. My Non-Imm B was about to expire, but the company was restructuring, so I couldn't get it renewed on time.

I flew to Laos for a few days, got a Thai tourist visa there, came back to Bangkok and had a couple months to get all the paperwork in order. Then I simply "converted" the tourist visa to a Non-Imm B at the immigration center.

It was an easy enough process, and I enjoyed an excuse for a trip to Laos. tongue.png
