Visa run information needed.

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm a Canadian,60 years old,semi-retired (still work in Canada),in Thailand with a 1 year ticket.

Arrived in Thailand June 18,2014 with a triple entry tourist visa.

First border run in Malaysia august 16,2014.When in Phuket got an extension for my second visa.

Second border run in Mae Sot august 16,2014.When in Chiang Mai,where I'm currently, got an extension for my third visa.

I'm now good until February 10,2015.

After rechearching my options for the rest of my time in Thailand (at the latest june 17,2015) I came across information on the Visathai website on their Visa Rules section saying that Canadian in my situation could go to a border,in my case Mae Sai,and get two 30 day stamp which would give me until april .After that I would have to go get a double tourist visa in Vientiane for my remaining time in the Kingdom.

It would work perfectly for in my case but do I actually have all the information right and that is why I'm posting today.

Thanks.

Since you are from Canada you can get a 30 day visa exempt entry (G7 rule) at a border crossing.

You could then extend that entry for 30 days at immigration for a fee of 1900 baht.

You could also go to Vientiane next month for the 2 entry tourist visa instead of doing the border run and extension. A 2 entry visa would give you about 6 months of total stay.
