To come to the point right away

My nephew has a Sony Vaio laptop OS windows 7 home premium 64 bit

when he starts the computer it shows the start up logo then stops

and just keeps repeating the logo and repeats and repeats but does

not get any further then showing the logo

I can not help him with that since I am a computer illiterate he does need the

computer urgent for his studies while he is in uni

Any advice how to overcome this problem and get his computer to start up again?

Thanks in Advance

Maybe the mainboard battery is empty, in a laptop those can be really hard to replace, soldering sometimes and opening a laptop can be a real m@@@@@f@@@@@r too...

Take it to a repair shop if you don't know what you're doing...
