Still 2 months money in bank required for first extension of stay?

Got a friend planning to retire here and was just checking if it's still the requirement: 800,000 in the bank for 2 months the first time an extension is requested (and 3 months on subsequent occasions)?

Reason I ask is this probably redundant website's stating 3 months.

Lite Beer beat me to it, you are correct, 2 for the first and then 3 for the following ones. Unless using the combination method for retirement and then no seasoning is applicable.
