"weloveshopping" - anybody have experience with selling products?

Featured Replies

hello community

anybody has sold - or is selling - products on the online portal "weloveshopping" ?

it seems to be a product from TRUE to help the thai people to sell online ....

I can not read thai - and I have to use the google translation tool to get some informations in english

I have seen, there is a "we store" and "you store" section for sellers, but it is hard for me to undestand clearly

if anybody can share his experience with selling products there - and how to set up the whole thing - would be great

what happens with the "we store" solution?

thanks a lot for sharing

I have never used WeLoveShopping as a merchant, but it's pretty much just a Thai version of Shopify and BigCommerce - i.e. a subscription based ecommerce website platform. The other major player in Thailand is tarad.com (which is now owned by Rakuten). Both of them offer a low-cost, DIY e-commerce website, with the benefit of having your inventory also displayed on their portals.

Both appear to be using customised versions of OS Commerce from what I can see, so there's not a lot of variety possible when it comes to the actual website design and layout, and neither of their website products seems to have specific support for mobile - if they do, there's not many merchants implementing it...

The other player worth looking into is lnwshop.com - they are much newer than the two previously mentioned, and appear to have better mobile support.... On that front, the explosion in internet usage in Thailand over the past few years has been powered by smart phones, not desktop PC's ;)

The big mover in this space over the past 18 months or so has been Lazada, which have a model very similar to Amazon - i.e. you don't need your own website at all, in this model they promote & sell your products on their website, and in turn you play by their rules, and give them a cut of the action.

The biggest considerations before choosing any of these options are:

1) What are you actually selling?

2) Who are you selling it to? (Thailand and/or export markets)

3) Are you a Thai company and registered with the DBD (Department of Business Development) for processing online transactions?
