Non Imm “O” – marriage AGAIN !

Here`s the thing did my 1year non imm marrige in November 2014 ,my passport expires on 30 March 2015 so immagration gave me stamp until the passport expires and paid the 1900 Baht fee and come back and get the stamp for the remaining 7 months,thats what I thought, wrong! I went to day to do my 90 day report but was5 days late and had to pay 2000 Baht fine ok no problem I asked about the remaining 7 months and when to come in ah they said you must come 1 month before the 30th March and do the whole non imm marriage again and pay a further 1900 baht to get a full year extenstion. I was pleasant and asked why pay again thats the rules .Has anybody had this happen to them?

Since August of 2013 if you do not have a year of passport validity when you apply an extension you only get an extension up to the date your passport expires. Then after you get a new passport you have to apply for a new extension when the shortened extension expires.

"According to the New Regulation from August 13, 2013, when submitting application for Visa Extension if the validity of passport of the applicant is not longer than one year left before expiry, the extension of stay will be permitted not exceeding the expired date of passport.

After the renewal of your passport of obtaining a new passport, you have to re-apply for Visa Extension by submitting required document and paying extension fee ( 1,900 Baht ). In case of overstay, the fine is 500 Baht per day."

Be aware that if you use 400.000 in the bank is must be seasoned for 2 months again.

You should not have to pay a fine for reporting 5 days late.

You can report 15 days before and up to 7 days late
