CityNews – Today, January 19, Chiang Mai Governor Suriya Prasatbandit has commanded the Pink Lady Karaoke Bar on Chang Klan Road to close down after a Malaysian businessman brought a receipt and informed Muang Chiang Mai police that they were seriously overcharged for food and service.

Bravo! Now reign in the dark force which facilitates the actions of these callous thugs and has allowed this type of thing to go on for years.

the scam part was not the reason although it bought them to the attention of the govner who had the easy task of ordering it closed if they had the correct paperwork he would never of closed them

If the Chiang Mai police were serious about shutting these places down they wouldn't wait until customers were ripped-off and beaten; they would use undercover cops to find out where the crooks are operating.

What's happening now may be the beginning of real change... or it may be only more of what they've always done.

I regularly pass four of the karaoke bars on Changklan Road. Since Pink Lady closed, two more have closed (KTV and Bunny Girl).
