Some of them are my friends... but why can't the Muslim call to prayer be broadcast through a local radio channel so as not to disturb non-Muslims? Why are Muslims infringing on the rest of the population's right to freedom from being disturbed ? Do other religions do this ? No. My neighbors are Buddhists, Catholics and many other beliefs - and all of them agree with me that we should not be disturbed by Muslim noisy calls to prayer several times a day from 0430 onwards. In respect for my missus I went out onto the balcony to let rip my morning 'blow off', following a night of Indian food and strong cider. My neighbour's head appeared at his window to ask if we had a new pet elephant......It set the dogs off too.... What would you prefer? The Call to Prayer or my powerful Curry and Cider fuelled/scented morning ar*e emissions.....sometimes it's better to count your blessings. I find the Call to Prayer quite atmospheric. On my first ever 'big trip' I recall getting to Egypt, first time outside Europe, hearing the Call in the morning behind the din from the traffic while in my hotel room and it really felt like I was 'away' for the first time. Jingthing Posted January 20, 2015 Share Posted January 20, 2015 Well, I don't like it if it wakes me up but I think there can't really be an objection if you willingly move into a neighborhood with this style of noise pollution. It's kind of like buying a house near an airport. You don't have credibility to complain if you made that choice (prices are usually discounted in such places).
