Bangkok taxi problem

Featured Replies

I've just left my laptop/bag in taxi. Apart from hope for honest driver, is there anything useful I can do?

If you have any details of the taxi, colour even, you could look up the company and call them. I left some stuff in a taxi in August and the driver turned up next day and I gave him a 200 baht reward. Most taxi drivers are honest, but a laptop is a tempting morsel.

There's a radio station that drivers listen to that broadcasts return requests and such. You'll probably need a Thai buddy to help you.

Yeah the station number is 1137 - they're used to getting calls about lost property. Try throwing in a reward as well maybe..?

Radio station is Jor Sor 100 (check the spelling) Get your Mrs to call them and let them know - good luck.

Hope your not Japanese.

Good luck getting it back. Hope the Driver is a good guy.

Thanks for all the very useful responses. I'm lucky, another honest taxi driver, glad to part with 1k to have it back!

you should make it public, call the BANGKOK POST or THE NATION newspapers maybe.

Taxi drivers deserve good news too, because all of them got "beaten" due to a few foul apples in the basket. But most are okay and work hard to make a living.

So it is worth to mention that good things happen too when dealing with the BKK cabbies
