Alpine summit: PM to sit on panel at Davos meet

Featured Replies

Prime Minister Hun Sen left Tuesday night for the Swiss ski resort of Davos, where he will for the first time join the world’s business, political and media elite for the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum.

Minister of Commerce Sun Chanthol and Finance Minister Aun Porn Moniroth will also be travelling to the four-day meeting.

An accompanying business delegation includes Acleda Bank CEO In Channy, lawyer and International Business Chamber of Cambodia chairman Bretton Sciaroni, Cambodian Rice Federation president Peter Sok and social entrepreneur Pierre Tami.

On Friday, the premier is scheduled to speak at a panel discussion on “The ASEAN Agenda” alongside other regional delegates.

More than 40 heads of state and government will rub shoulders at Davos, along with 1,500 business leaders from the world’s largest corporations.

“The meeting will discuss a wide range of issues on global and regional agendas in the evolving geopolitical and geo-economic context worldwide,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
