January 22, 201511 yr Hello forum, I (German passport) need some advice: I'm currently on a 30 days visa exempt stamp + extension (my first time in Thailand, so no previous Thai stamps/ visas). These 60 days will be over soon - then I'd like to go to Luang Prabang for about 5 days and then return for another exempt stamp (both ways overland via Huay Xai). Will it be ok? [and if so, is there a chance I could even get another extension? (I don't want a tourist visa)]
January 23, 201511 yr Since you will be out of the country for a few days you can get another 30 day (G7 rule) visa exempt entry. if you were to just cross the border and immediately return it might be denied. You should not have a problem getting another 30 day extension. If plan on staying much longer it would really be better to get a tourist visa. You may reach a the limit of exempt entries you can do.
January 23, 201511 yr Author Thanks for the reply, ubonjoe! I was a bit nervous about this, but now I feel better For now I only need those 60 days. In the future I'll get a proper tourist visa.
