German court upholds man's right to pee standing up

BERLIN (AP) — A German court has ruled that a tenant who liked to pee standing up doesn't owe his landlord money for damages apparently caused by splashing, or missing his target altogether.

Video shows killing of clerk over cigarettes near Phoenix

PHOENIX (AP) — A surveillance video that captured the killing of a Phoenix-area convenience store clerk shows the suspect calmly walking behind the counter after pulling the trigger, stepping over the fallen victim and grabbing several packs of Marlboros before slowly exiting.

Phetchabun kicks off its OTOP fairs, underway until Jan 31st

PHETCHABUN, 24 Jan 2015, (NNT) - Petchaboon yesterday kicked off the One Tambol One Product (OTOP) Fair 2015, featuring the province’s famous sweet tamarind and other local delicacies. The event will end on January 31st.


Phetchabun Governor Bundit Tevitivarak presided over the fair’s opening ceremony held at the lawn in front of the local city hall yesterday.

According to the organizer, the event aims at providing another distribution channel for the local OTOP vendors in Phetchabun and nearby provinces, helping generate income for them and promoting tourist attractions in the area at the same time.

After presiding the event, Governor Bundit and his entourage visited the fair, sampling the goods and food as well as purchasing some products.
Aside from the locals famous snack ‘sweet tamarind’, the fair also boasts a wide range of other commodity and utility products. Visitors have until the end of this month to enjoy the event.

Red Onions Festival is being held in Srisaket

SRISAKET, 24 Jan 2015, (NNT) - Srisaket Province on Thursday launched its annual Red Onion Festival at the Chumnoi District, promoting the area’s well known product---red onion. The fair will is to be held until this weekend.


Deputy Srisaket Governor Permsak Chaweerak officially kicked off the fair, held in the front yard of the district office, yesterday afternoon.

Joining the ceremony were district officers, municipality officials, local administration members, government employees, and the private sector.

About 20 vending stalls have been set up in the event, featuring agricultural products contests and the best- decorated stall competition, with Miss Red Onion beauty pageant being the highlight of the fair.

According to officials, the purpose of the event is to promote and market the province famous red onion to larger community and middlemen while creating unity among fellow red onion farmers in the area.

Interested individual are invited to visit the fair from now until tomorrow.

In the field of public health, Dr. Donald A. Henderson was the main contributor to the success of a Smallpox Eradication Campaign. Due to his ultimate effort, Smallpox was the first and only deadly disease which has been completely eradicated from the world. Transport Ministry evaluating proposed rise in taxi surcharge at Suvarnabhumi
