I use the Phuket immigration office.

In addition to the Embassy income letter what else will be required.

Thanks

Certified proof of residency (e,g, lease). You get that on the ground floor.

Copies of both sides of a foreign credit card.

Copy of your passport, last visa and departure card

Application form

Loads of patience

Never make copies of both sides of your credit card. Only the front side is required. (can be foreign or Thai )

If you don't want to use the credit card you can also use a copy (with original) of your Thai Bankbook as long it is in your own name.

I was told it had to be be a foreign credit card to show you had access to foreign funds. That may be because I was using the foreign income method as opposed to cash in a Thai bank. Sounds like the OP is doing the same as me.

I doubt you will need a Cerificate of Residence or even your lease/rental agreement.

But you will need to prove that your land lord has registered you at your place of residence. This can be a completed TM30 form (you will need to have your land lord complete and sign). You can download the form here ---> http://www.immigration.go.th/nov2004/en/base.php?page=download

But there should be no need if your land lord has already registered you into Immigration database.

This is all very confusing. On my last annual extension I was asked for the TM30 form and I just stated my details were in the database, officer checked the database and all was Ok.

As far as the financial side - I thought the proof of income letter was all that is needed. Perhaps your Thai bank book to display money being paid into Thailand each month. This credit card idea must be for those without a thai bank account.

Best not to speculate LK. I renewed a month ago. I took the landlord's form but they didn't ask for it, just my lease. I have a Thai bank account but they only asked for the foreign credit card. I think it changes from day to day so best to take everything you can and be prepared to run up and down stairs copying stuff!

As a landlord, I supply our tenants with a lease, the TM30 form, and input passport details into the Immigration database. It's hard to know waht Immigration will ask for. It seems to change with the mood of the day hour.

And I agree, best take everything. But they still find something new to ask for each year. It's seem like a challenge for them to find something that needs photocopied.

How it is explained to us is as follows,

When using a foreign income statement immigration like to confirm that you are using the Thai banking system for your living expenses in Thailand.

Therefore they are asking for a (Thai) bankbook or credit card.

If you don't have a Thai bank account you can use a foreign credit card.

But i agree it depends mostly on the mood en interested of the officer handling the application.

I own and live in my condo and as far as I can see TM30 does not apply, anyone know what does in my case?

I have a Chanote and blue tabien ban.

If your name in the Tabien Ban you can go Phuket town Immigration with this and your passport and chanote. Make copies and the address registration will be done. (they will put the registration paper in your passport for confirmation)

If your name isn't in the blue book, you can get a yellow book with your name in it.

And how does that help him with his address registration.?

Immigration does not accept a yellow book as address registration confirmation.

My name is not in the blue book and I have tried, in vain, to get anyone to explain to me,

including my wife, why it is not. So what then Merijin?

Technically you are the land lord and you can sign off the TM30. I say 'technically' but given your name does not appear of the Tabian Baan (blue book) then you are stuffed. Foreign names are not usually included in the blue book. Foreign names are only included in the so called yellow book. In your case then just get your wife to sign the house master form. That's what I do. Why try to buck the 'Thai' system.
