Hi myself and my wife have been married and living in England for 5 yrs now and she has a daughter who is 6 years old from a previous relationship with a falang that we have no contact with. We wish to change her surname to are surname as sometimes it's a bit awkward at times and it will will be better for her How do we go about this?

Hi I changed my daughters name by deed poll with solicitor but she was born in UK with UK parents, not sure if you can do this but if you can you can do it cheaply on line.

We changed her name by deed poll in the UK when she first moved here but i don't know how to change her surname on hrr ID and then her Thai passport.

Can you not just send her deed when you re-apply for passport ? This is what I did but that was under the UK, they did actually ring me the passport office and asked me if I got permission I just told them I did not know where he was and not had contact for years, no problem got passport issued.

Also do you claim child benefit in UK? If so make sure you have changed the name with all UK authorities. My friend changed her daughters name but did not inform them and when her NI number came it was in her old name.

My wife has a British citizenship but l when I applied for it my step daughters hadn't been here 3 yrs so she is on ILR still but when I get round to applying its just a case of sending the deed poll with the application. It's the Thai side were i need to find out how to change. And we sent the deed poll form off when I filled in the child benefit forms.
