and according to this rather vague report by the telegraph we've pulled out of the rac e for zaha

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/manchester-united/9789050/Manchester-United-in-prime-position-to-land-12m-rated-Crystal-Palace-striker-Wilfried-Zaha.html

a long time c/p season ticket holder mate of mine rates him as the best c/p

player since he's ever seen and he goes back to b4 wrighty.

well maybe not signing hims for the best, players we've signed from c/p, with us never seem to live

up to expectations.

grew up with the stories of rowe's push and run side, the daylight after the spurs long years in obscurity, billy nich's wonderful side.

for me, the next manager who ever he is, who wins the title, will join those pivotal spurs figures.

our teams for many years "playing the spurs way",at times talented sides, but all i want is a title.

Yes, I just saw that.......sort of solves the issue, but I just hope Spurs don't do the same as they did last season after Christmas.

Yeah lets hope not. But one injury to our front men and we've really got issues. But Trying to look on the positive side of things, might we go bac to one up front and maybe give parker a few starts, and maybe give us a chance to see how dembele shapes up in a more advanced position?

yeah lets hope togo out at the first stage and no panic alfie, but an injury or a red to defoe and we could be left with no specialist striker, I suppose arguably, you could play Dempsey there, who knows maybe Dempsey would step up, goal wise he seems 2 b on song atm but IMO it's not really ideal, especially for a club with aspirations of a top four finish .. And your right about adeboys form, but players especially strikers after a lay off, be it straight after or a slight delay, seems their form always seems to suffer. But i'm beginning to wonder if he's more suited 2 b upfront by himself, marauding along the line as such, as opposed 2 having to work with a partner, just a wonder.

I thought Adebayor was aweful. if thats the best he can do then we are in even greater need of a striker. i wonder if we'll start playing 4-4-1-1 now he's gone with Dempsey dropping in behind Defoe?

We didn't use our wings to any effect at all and were largely reduced to long range shots with no one to pick the lock.

Something has to happen in this window but i still doubt it.

Sandro's injury is not serious which is a good thing baring in mind Livermore is off soon.

To my mind everything is so slow and laborious (thus easy for teams to keep there shape) which is partly down to Dembele as he is the playmaker,we should play Parker in centre mid who would add a bit of zip and up the tempo and then we could play Dembele in his best position at no10.

Our failure to use the width really cost us last night.

Again and again we passed into areas well defended with no real creativity on show.

Worrying stuff.

Its time to speed it up. Basically pair up Parker and Sandro and push Dembele further up. Personally id prefer that but as i said earlier he might well use a 4411 using Dempsey.

In short our build up play is too slow, doesnt work for us and is too predictable for teams that just want to shut up shop. I do think that if we had scored rather than Cesar making those two terrific saves we would have hammered them. No great tactics by Redknapp just a big well done to the keeper and a thumbs up for a negative two flat banks of four

too true smokie, harry parked the bus,and we had nothing to break them down, rangers would be happy with the point, and if this isnt a message to levy we need some creative players, plus a striker who wont spend more time on his bum than working for the ball and team

Can't really think of much to add over what's already been posted, barring a quicky on Naughton, perhaps he will develop, but atm cant see he adds to the team. over aseoboy, oh, and ide be really worried with adeboy if he wasn't getting into scoring positions but he is, so, to me, it WILL klic into place, just a case of when.

Sorry to say this chaps, but it reminded me of one of those game we used to have in the school playground, where each team kicks the ball for several seconds and it goes to and fro.

The only thing missing was the fat kid in goal.

Nice to see Harry hugging AVB. sick.gif

Nah, that AVB coat is skin tight, never be able to slip his chubby hand in.

Do you reckon the coat has sentimental value? unsure.png

Theres been a lot of talk regarding that ridiculous garment. Personally i reckon his mum bought it. Regardless of its origins, it has to go.

He's becoming his own person, albeit a bit Frank Spencer-ish.
