To be fair she had some years working in Australia...more than Simon has had I think.

I can locate Botany Bay on a map and I have previous experience dealing with convicted criminals. I thought that might suffice.

I suppose being an honorary consul is a good way of making contacts for your legal business.

But surely there must have been one Australian in Phuket capable and willing to take on the task.

Capable is one thing...but willing is another!

The responsibilities involved in this job go far beyond the call of duty given the work they are expected to do.

While most people are fast asleep at 2/3am in the morning Larry was normally sorting out the emotional wreckage

of just another night on Phuket Island...wether it be another drunken Aussie getting into strife or a fatal motorbike accident

somebody had to organise all the relevant protocol involved..and then be expected to do it all over again the next night!

Then of course the many meetings with the local Thai Chamber of Commerce and the Mayor that Larry headed full on

and in the end got too close to the bone in his fight against local corruption.

I wish her all the best in her official capacity as Honourable Counsel as it sure is a thankless job!
