hi guys,sorry you have probally heard this question many times,but i have received conflicting info........I entered thailand in nov on a 2 month tourist visa and recently extended by a month in patong (1900bht) . I am going to have get another two month visa and extend again by a month to see out my holiday,i was hoping to go to ranong but have been told i cannot extend by 2 months there,i have to go to penang,is this true ??............If i have to do this then i may as well go somewhere for a week and get a 2 month visa on re-entry,any recomendations would be appreciated,or just bite the bullet and do the penang visa run ??

hope this makes sense,i am not on a small budget so i can happily fly somewhere if that makes things easier,

thanks

From Southern Thailand, you would go to Penang. But if you want a double entry visa to stay up to 6 months, you can fly to Laos, Air Asia combination to Udon Thani for Vientane or Mukdhahan for Savannkhet. There are many threads about, just browse.

You cannot get a 2 month entry at a border crossing you have to go to an embassy or consulate for a new visa. If you had a 2 entry tourist visa you could get a new 60 day entry from it at a border crossing.

As said Penang for a single entry visa or Laos for a 2 entry.

note u need go to a Thai Embassy and apply for a tourist visa.

and get a 2 month visa on re-entry

Does not exist;

Penang is closest to Phuket,

fly ( 1 hour) or bus down (10+)

will take at least 1 night stay

Well worth 2 nights there, great little city and fantastic food

Flying up north to Udon and bus over to Vientiane would be same cost or even cheaper

Well in reality if all the OP needs is two months and he is from a G7 country, he could try a visa exempt entry in Ranong, and 30 days extension.

But there are three if in the above, while none in going to Penang.
