Want high end ergonomic chair. Where to find?

Thank you jij for links. This one would be good for a living room but not being the youngest I find it incredibly hard to get up from. It requires much more muscle strength because of the low back sitting area. Also for a long movie evening it is not so good for the blood circulation that the thighs are so high positioned, ME THINKS

I don't think there are any "high-end" furniture shop in CM, if by that you mean, say, European high end quality.

I find most of the chairs/sofas made locally are not ergonomic. Only way to find out is to try sitting on them. I suppose you know Index Living, SB Furniture, Mega Furniture stores? Hardly high end, but sometimes you can find something nice there. There's also some furniture factory cluster somewhere in Lampun, which I've not been myself.

Agreed, finding good or great quality is nigh impossible. Another option is to find plans of what you particularly like and go out to Baan Tawai. One of the many shops there should be able to make it up.

I did just that when I lived in the Philippines. Very good carpenters there and not great expense.

Good post by jij!

I recommend the Aeron chair. I owned one in the USA. 44K THB on sale is pretty much what they cost in the USA. You will not be disappointed if you sit in front of a computer or at a desk several hours per day. Your back will thank you. There are several dealers in Bangkok. The Replica Eames High Back Office Chair from NR Design looks good too. It is also a very comfortable chair. I owned 4 of them in my business. I suspect these are made in China at a price of 16.5K THB but the quality looks good in the photo.

There are no decent office chairs in C.M. I've looked everywhere. Get it in Bangkok and they ship it to you.

Can't think of the name of the place BUT...

On the way into town from Hang Dong Road, past Airport Plaza, go Straight ahead, under the Overpass and just a few shops past the Golf Driving Range, on the Left hand side there is a "European Looking" Building, think it has a couple of Large Greek type Columns at the front and set back a little from the road.

They sell antique type products, tables, chairs etc., I saw a very nice Leather Recliner (Italian Import) there a few weeks ago. Think it was about 30-40 Thousand Baht...but possibly just what you need.

Hope this helps!

Modern Living (I think that is the name). They have a couple of high end ergo chairs. I got one there years back, amazing chair. Looks like this:

It was around 20k and to date is the best chair I've ever owned. Used to use Herman Millers back in the USA, but this is much better. For me anyways.

Just make sure that whatever you get, everything is adjustable, especially the arms for height AND width. Arm placement is really important if you sit long hours.

oh i forgot. there is a new furniture design center outside of CM. it is on the road to bkk about 20-30 minutes outside of CM on the left hand side. in the front there is a large sign that says 'DESIGN CENTER'. i know this is more than a little vague, but perhaps someone else here knows the name. there are about 50 or more high end furniture stores there. while they do not have the aeron chair (which is the best office chair money can buy), they do have some herman miller / eames repros as mentioned above. this place has only been there a few months and is a must see for anyone interested in furniture related items. probably the best selection of tile in CM or most anywhere under one roof. there's also one in bkk.

That's Boonthavorn. Although I wasn't looking for chairs there, I did notice a good selection of what looked like very high end and comfortable desk chairs there.

In my opinion it's definitely worth investing in a good chair, especially Herman Miller Embody chairs, despite its hefty price tag.

Good chairs last for a long time & they can help you to be more productive at work. It's worth the money.

The warranty period for Herman Miller chairs last for 12 years. And Herman Miller chairs generally have good resale value (of course subject to the condition of the chair).

If you are interested to invest in high end ergonomic chairs, this website is worth exploring https://gaoii.com/.

It's primarily in Thai Language but they do have English speaking staff.
