NE district of Thailand provides Valentine photo props

Nakhon Ratchasima:- With St Valentine’s Day on the horizon, colorful flower fields and cool breeze in Nakhon Ratchasima’s Wang Nam Khiao district promises to be a perfect setting for couples in love.

“We would like to invite all couples to come here and enjoy themselves in flower bloom,” Tambon Thai Samakkee Administrative Organisation’s chairman Somboon Singking says.

His organisation has now joined hands with various agencies in hosting the “Chrysanthemum Bloom in the Mist Festival” between February 13 and February 16.

“About one million Chrysanthemum flowers are waiting for you here,” Somboon says.

Spanning over 120 rai, the flower field is an attractive tourist destination especially now that love is in the air.

Somboon expects the festival to attract 100,000 tourists and generate the cash flow of well over Bt100million. About 20 couples will also register their marriage at the festival on St Valentine’s Day.

Many locals in Tambon Thai Samakkee, Wang Nam Khiao district, Nakhon Ratchasima province, grow and sell flowers. Every February, their fields turn into lovely flower beds making the area an attraction.

The local administrative body has boosted up the appeal by hosting “Chrysanthemum Bloom in the Mist Festival”, which is now in its 13th year.

Enticed by nice weather and blossoming flower fields, a number of tourists have flocked to the Wang Nam Khiao district since early February.

Due to the high-pressure ridge from China, temperature in the district is just around 23 degrees Celsius today (Feb9) during the day.
