Non B and Work permit but not actively involved day to day

Featured Replies

Is it possible to get a Non B and work permit as an owner of a company, when not actively involved in the day to day running of the business?

I'm looking at purchasing an already existing business. At the moment it's owned by a Thai and there is no company setup. I would form a company with myself and wife being the major shareholders.

This business employees 8 full time Thai staff. My wife would manage it. I wouldn't really be involved in the day to day operations. I would only be involved in the high end decision making (with the wife).

Would this allow me to get a Non B and work permit?

Cheers.

Yes if the company has 2 million capital registered.

WP permit should not be a problem with the correct papers filed, in fact labour love companies where the foreigner takes a 'back seat' and leaves Thais to run the company.

Is your wife Thai? If yes you can get the work permit and work on a non-o visa or extension of stay based upon marriage.

You could get a work permit and a extension of stay for working as an owner/director. But you would have to be paid a salary of 50k baht if you are from a western country to get the extension. If not you could get a multiple entry non-b visa without the salary requirement after you get the work permit.
