I have just done an order with lazada which are import items. They state it will will take 10-14 days to deliver, which is ok.

However I'm now wondering if i will be liable for any import tax?

I have sent an email to them, but fear the reply will not be conclusive or wrong. So need somebody on here to give expert advice.

Bought several items from Lazada that were displayed explicitly as "imported"; never had to pay extra import tax.

Don't know if this is a general rule or I just got lucky.

Cash of Delivery of invoice amount.

Nothing added, nothing said about import tax......... that would surely be the liability of Lazada - you are buying from Lazada who are Thailand based.

A friend of mine hated this company since his first order for being dishonest and lack of service. He ordered a complete babyroom set because it was a promo on the frontpage, on the bill however they charged the full price but when he called them they were not interested in making a correction. Also they sended the wrong colors blue in stead of pink but no service at all. Babygirl now has everything in babyboy colors. (...) Sounds pretty much like substandard service and I won't order anything from them either.

I have used this company many times now, started cod so I had a chance to inspect the goods before payment all fine, customer service I have found emails slow, brought my new phone from the site no problems, like the flash 10% sales they tend to have too.

Buying from LAZADA what you see is what you pay, no more no less.

First class company, first class servige.

unless something doesn't work and you send it back and never get any answer, till you fill a complain with Paypal.....

I 3 problems on 3 purchases in compare to 0 problems on 10 from invadeit, 2 from 69 Ebay purchases and 0 from xxx Amazon.com purchases.

Well your friends silly because Lazada is cash on delivery. He could have said no not what I ordered, and gone elsewhere.

Its that simple.

You get your money back.

Welcome to the world of online purchases.

Nothing stopping anyone from going to a real store is there.

I noticed that some items do not allow COD and only CC etc. these were mostly import cellphones

What is the problem: 5 emails, 1 hour time, lost the shipping costs back. Everything needed 3-4 weeks.

And all that time I didn't have the product I needed.

Yes will buy somewhere else, but that lost time is an issue.

Well what I got: a used drum for the printer instead of a new one. I would have paid it on delivery. I doubt they let me unpack it and do a close inspection before payment.

How do you purchase something from Amazon, because I always get the message, unforunately this item can not be shipped to Thailand.

Do people purahse stuff from amazon.com, shipping plus import fees must be outrageous

The only problem I have with lazada is they seem to be rubbish at finding the place where they are delivery, it seems like in 2015 they should equip their drivers with a GPS system at the very least

I have two orders on their way and am expecting them to arrive today fingers crossed

^ indeed, my last order took 7 days, when they said 3. Once the goods arrived, the driver was sat outside my house for 20 minutes, blocking my driveway. I indicated for him to move, and he did.

When i got outside the estate the driver was parked up still looking at the map!

The delivery is outsourced to Kerry Logistics and others. When a driver has had difficulties finding me the driver calls my phone. Never had any problems.

Having used Lazada for 36 orders (all COD) in the last year have only had one problem - seller did not have advertised item and called to advise - we accepted offer of different item but later got call from Lazada that ordered item not available - advised them of previous conversation and they said would call back but never did - item never arrived and suspect we were expected to re-order correct version and a misunderstanding.

You do have to check prices as most items are not sold directly by Lazada and there may be several selling same item at different price. So do read all the items before you buy.

They have some type of discount available often, and most can be a combined price to obtain (just as you can combine small under 500 baht items to obtain free shipping). Entry of discount code and final price is always available before you submit actual order, so if you misunderstand conditions you have not lost money (sale offers are written in Thai only - but so far are not full of exemption conditions like some firms use - most seem to be available for day published or time stated and easy to understand). Worthwhile being on mail list and getting daily email offer IMHO.

Delivery is made by there own motorcycle service (normally next day for such items) or several delivery services, depending on seller. All my orders have been received within 6 days of ordering and many next day. But this is for Bangkok so expect would be longer upcountry for most items.

It is sometimes hard to find what you want on there website as there are a lot of items listed - but probably worth the effort.

COD can be a pain because you have to co-ordinate the delivery. I really like their "Counter Payment" option where you print out the Counter Payment order form and take it to any 7-11 and pay there. You will get a confirmation email within an hour. My apartment has an office where deliveries can be dropped off. I don't need to be there.

I've bought quite a few devices from Lazada. The 2 times I was dissatisfied with products I received from them, they were accepted for return; no problem.

I don't suppose you thought to 'indicate to him' that you might be the recipient of his delivery ? smile.pngsmile.png

I wanted a new coffee maker and liked the size of the Phillips but Numchai and Index did not have any in stock so ordered one from Lazada (second purchase from them)

Ordered in the AM on Friday and got a call from the TG that she found the one I wanted at Big C but since I ordered it told her no. Got it on Monday morning, delivered by Kerry Logistics and it was 140 THB cheaper than anywhere else and shipping was free

Used my Bangkok Bank Debit card and was pleased with the experience and the savings was just gravy I had not anticipated

The whole point of COD is that you can check the goods before you accept delivery and pay.

I am amazed that the drivers do not have some sort of GPS for finding their delivery points. I had one the other day ring me 4 or 5 times to find my condo but it is clearly shown on Google maps.

Actually COD is to allow purchase by the normal cash buyer who does not have access to credit cards. Most of the population (although you may feel otherwise in supermarket queue). Most Thai families will have someone in home that can pay on delivery.

The use of maps is a new thing and most Thai use point to point directions as under traditional system house numbering was by land plot numbers and had nothing to do with location beyond that specific plot. In most cases maps still do not have numbers for homes so unless going to a specific map coord GPS is still not very helpful - although the time is coming.
