Disposal of sensitive and personal documents

Featured Replies

Is it possible to personally burn stacks of sensitive documents at the garbage dump at Saphan hin? or any other place?

Felt.

If it's going to be a regular thing, why not buy a shredder?

You can destroy documents when you feel like. You don't have to take the documents anywhere. You witness their destruction, and It would be better for the environment.

Drop them into your local SCB bank and tell them to take care and to look after the documents :)

Find a somchai burning his rubbish and leaves (normally Sunday's) and add it to his pile.

I think it will be to that. Have previously seen a home shredder for sale in a shop here but cant remember where it was. Any idea where they most likely can have a stock of this things?

Office works on basement level at Central has many of them. From small desk ones to ones with a bin attached.

Get a cross-cutting shredder, almost impossible to piece it all back together again. Ribbon (straight) shredder not so good.

Spend a bit more and get one that cuts DVDs / credit cards / CDs etc. and does more than 3 pages at a time (cheap one will take you forever)

i have had a few shredders over the years - the cheap er ones have a limited life as they burn out . I now have a commercial one and apart from being quieter and quicker it can shred for 20 minutes plus without the overload switch activating.. I shred all my paper and cardboard not just business papers as it is much easier to dispose of paper in a shredded form. Cross-cut shredders are the way to go. I use the most of the shredded paper as compost and mulch in the garden rather than burning it .

If you are unable to find a place to burn the documents, then filling a bucket with either water or ethanol and placing the documents in for a day, might do the trick.
