Now someone can manage your Facebook account after you die

NEW YORK (AP) — Facebook is making it easier to plan for your online afterlife.

The world’s biggest online social network said Thursday that it will now let users pick someone who can manage their account after they die. Previously, the accounts were “memorialized” after death, or locked so that no one could log in.

But Facebook says its users wanted more choice. Beginning in the U.S., Facebook users can pick a “legacy contact” to post on their page after they die, respond to new friend requests and update their profile picture and cover photo. Users can also have their accounts deleted after their death, which was not possible before.

If you want someone to manage your account after you die, click on the upside-down triangle on the top right corner of your page, open “settings” and find “security.”

Soon they will be able to upload your soul at the moment of death. Your friends will be able continue to like or dislike whatever you do for eternity.

Death Mask Book?

Is this compatible with the recently released 'Purgatory' app?

My Sister-in-laws family have been managing an account for 6 months. I think it's gross.

Now, future generations will continue to know what I had for breakfast. You're welcome, future generations.

Maybe to time to consider a memorial site.

You can write your own obituary. rolleyes.gif (ante mortem)

Look for the "White Christmas" episode of Black Mirror.

Very disturbing and at the same time fascinating.

Wow!

Will they be able to forward my messages to me and answer my cell phone too?

If you need to update your status to Dead it"s probably too much Facebooking that killed you.

At first, I thought this was kind of strange.

Then I remembered something.

A couple of years ago, a very close and dear friend of mine from my college days passed away.

I don't know how she did it, but his daughter was able to access his facebook account and inform many of his old friends that he had passed away.

Many of us got together for a great memorial for our friend.

Some of us had not seen each other for over 30 years.

We all agreed that it was a good thing that his daughter was able to contact us all.

laugh.pnglaugh.png Wireless web cam's from the underground...to periodically upload your new look?? Sorry...couldn't help myself.
