TVF Poll -- Valentine's Day Special

hith-valentine.jpg

By popular request, TVF proudly presents its very own poll for Saint Valentine's Day.

We are delighted to announce a new scientific poll that will shed light on how expat teenagers of all ages, celebrate their special day in honour of a third century Roman saint.

I completely missed that it was Valentine's Day.

The wife came for a week-long visit, to where I work in Malaysia, went back today for a funeral.

But I gave her a nice gift this morning, before she left, anyway...giggle.gif

Where do we get the "free/cheaper" condoms the government is giving out?

Free I don't think that currently exists (except for some promotion on World AIDS day or the likes) looking at this story. http://www.who.int/bulletin/volumes/88/6/10-010610/en/

Family planning clinics at governmental hospitals may provide affordable solutions. Ask in the health forum for details.

So how did the Thai's steel this holiday from the west ?

You got it! The "West" put it into a large steel container and shipped it from the port of Rome to Laem Chabang in Thailand, after not wanting it any longer. From there it took on its own new life, but that's another story. biggrin.png

So how did the Thai's steel this holiday from the west ?

Sounds like it was smuggled in (no steel involved) with the sex tourists.

The origins of our only holiday devoted to love are somewhat murky. It is thought to have its beginnings in the Roman festival of Lupercalia, which was celebrated in mid-February. The fertility ritual included animal sacrifice, nude men, women flogged with animal hides, and a matchmaking lottery akin to a 1970s key party.

... or possibly by some beekeepers.

Today St. Valentine is the patron saint of lovers, engaged couples, and marriages, as well as beekeepers, victims of the plague, and those with epilepsy.
