After trying to ripoff 30,000 baht from a young Brit by Planting drugs on him, the young lad went to the police who actually laid a trap to catch the bent copper and his partner. Read story from link below.

The thing that is amasing is not that the police caught the guy but for his crime he is being " Transfered to a VERY INACTIVE POST " :D

What does this mean and why hasn't the policeman been sacked and prosecuted. Any comments please.

Well done the Brit :D

/Mod Edit - typo's in thread title and post fixed... "rouge police"... :o

Quite simple really !

Unemployed = No work ... No Money

Inactive Post = Work ... No money

Naka.

I heard a story yesterday about a cop in pattayaland 2 performing some very strange behavior to get money from 2 English guys, I won't go into the details, it happened on Monday

Are you supposed to plant drugs on innocent people while you're undercover?

  • 1 month later...

Sitting in The Shamrock Bar a couple of days ago I saw the hairy lipped Thai guy that planted the drugs. He was doing his usual touting for naughty shows, photo menu card in hand. He heard me point him out, came over and said "everything ok now", thinking perhaps I had been concerned for him. What scum! He has been coming down in the world; before he was a manager in Jupiter on Pattayaland II, then a tout, then arrested in a Pattaya City News piece on inter-soi gang fights, then busted for trying to set up the Englishman.

In Thailand I would have thought Inactive Post = No work....money

Here in Canada they often suspend cops WITH pay.

Nice work if you can get it... :o

In order to be able to get transferred to Pattaya - which is considered one of the most lucrative assignments in the force - a police officer needs money.

There is much demand among the BIB to be stationed here because of the huge earnings a posting here brings to those officers.

Sounds like the arresting officers were only paying lip-service to the press on this one in stating he would be transfrred to an inactive position.

The unabashed corruption that exists at that particular station couldn't be more obvious, could it?

pretty much as I see it as well, very little effort to cover up anything. :o The only time you do see it is when the BKK gang :D rides into town for their share of the loot.
