Update to the time it took to get my renewed UK passport back from the UK and review of trendy.

20 days from application to returned to BKK, Trendy very good service very friendly and polite, biggrin.png just a shame the passport can’t be EMS back to Issan.

A lot better than my last experience with the British embassy felt like a pile of Do Do on the floor.

I have one question as I will be on a tight schedule on getting back to Mor Chit bus station, about getting this letter from the Brit embassy how long does it take 1 hour or more?

Thanks for the Info in advance.

You can get the Embassy pro Forma by email application FOC and they EMS to your home address, so no need to waste time calling in, plus they close for this kind of thing after 11:00 am!

Hi,

The FOC abbreviation has over a 100 different meanings, did you use this FOC abbreviation to outline the meaning "free of charge" ....

In addition, please outline the Embassy activity about the above matter in clearer details.

Yes,

Email the British Embassy Consular Facility [email protected] with your address details, a scan of your old/new passport ID Pages, plus details of current visa/extension type and last date of entry to Thailand.

It's also worth checking with your local immigration department as to whether they require this pro forma letter or not

And attached is a template of the misleadingly-titled "visa transfer letter" which you should receive from the Embassy by return.

Personally, my advice would be to err on the side of caution and obtain the letter regardless since it is not unknown for even individual officers within a particular immigration office subsequently to contradict the advice which they had previously given, depending on which side of the bed they had got out of that morning!
