Jacob Maslow
Exercise Cobra Gold comes to an end with 4 new buildings being given to community schools to be used as extra classrooms, libraries or community centers. Exercise Cobra Gold, a civil-military operation with an aim to bolster regional security and response times in areas where crisis occurs, is coming to an end. The Engineer / Humanitarian Assistance portion of the exercise aimed to build multipurpose buildings in various districts within the country for local schools. Ceremonies were held representing the end of the project. During the ceremony, all of the structures were given to the community in celebration. In total, there were four construction sites. Located at schools, Lop Buri, Saraburit and Chanthaburi provinces, the most under-served areas, saw new buildings erected and handed over. The project added one, 7.8 x 20 meter building to each of the respective sites. All schools expect to use the new building as either a library or additional classrooms. Villagers will also be able to use the buildings as a type of community center. Farmers markets being held at the new buildings have also been suggested. Klahan Petchmisri stated that the exercise was a major success. Speaking at the celebration in the Chanthaburi province, he stated that the partner nations strengthened their relationship greatly as a result. Klahan wants the buildings to be taken care of so that they can be passed down for generations, becoming part of the nation’s heritage. U.S. commanders were also a part of the exercise and were in attendance. Community leaders, teachers and villagers were also present during the celebration. One of the school’s principals in the Muaktek district announced plans to use the new building as a classroom for those in kindergarten through second grade. The United States, Thailand, China, Malaysia, India and Indonesia were all part of the exercise and helped with the building of the new structures. Music and food was part of the celebration as well as presentations from students that attend each school. -- 2015-02-

Robby nz
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. What giving buildings to schools is insanity ? If that's the case then they need a lot more of it.
