I suggest to give http://www.1stclassvisaruns.com/ located in Soi 6 Pattaya a try. The only visa run service i know which offer a 6-seperate-seat bus to Cambodia, but not for Laos. So that's said, every passenger have enough space to solve a relaxed border run.

I paid 2500 Baht. We didn't enter Cambodia actually. We only went to the immigration counter on the Thai side to get the exit stamp. Then, our driver collected all the passports, crossed the border and came back. Then we went again to the immigration counter to get the entry stamp. The entire procedure takes only about 10 minutes.

I always recommend The Visa Shop on Soi BuaKhao, close to the Soi Diana junction.

2200 baht all in.

No more than 6 to a Minibus.

Leaves at 6.30am and you are back in Pattaya around 2pm.

Cool. Does soi Diana junction have any relation to Diana inn? Because It is the only place that comes up on google maps.

Meeting time is 6am. Then you will get a breakfast and then the rid will start. About the price, i paid 2500 Baht. May be lower, because i booked by another visa run shop in Soi 13. They transferred me then to Soi 6 because of lack of customers. I thought, 2500 would be the normal price anyway.

Soi Diana Inn runs from the corner of the Diana Inn to the junction of Soi BuaKhao.

Walking from the Diana Inn, when you reach the junction, turn right and its the 3rd shop on your right.

Do I need to book a spot with them? Do they have open hours? Thanks!

Guess you booked with “Five Star Visa Run” then. I’ve used them a few times, as well as “1st Class Visa Runs”. Both of these operate a 6 seater minivan.

Five Star is located outside the Sportsman Pub on soi 13 and their regular price is 2800, but 2500 if booking a day early and then it gets somewhat cheaper each day in advance you make your booking.

I booked with Berliner Bistro (also located on Soi 13). I recognized, that at least these 3 offices works together. And most likely also with Sea-Air-Land Tours, Soi 13/2.

Many of the Thai agents will book you in with the "sawadee" company who have many vans doing runs. I have always found the drivers to work to a high standard. Pickup is at your location. Lunch on the way back.

I like to deal with the agent "Tony" at Buakhow Travel ( tel: 0841074725 ). It's next door to the 7-11, 50 yards from Pook Swan bar, same side of road, towards Pattaya Klang.

I myself would ask Tony specifically for a Sawadee van. The Sawadee drivers do the route everyday. Other companies seem to get motobike taxi drivers who rush about on and off the gas/brakes throwing the van around.

Two years ago I used the little visa shop that is set up "inside" the Robin's nest. It was adequate for my needs. We went to some little Cambodian place, barely crossing into the country. We kind of just hung around this little outdoor shack. Nothing to do, nothing to see. But it was quick. Later I did a visa run from Bangkok and they went to Poi Pet which was a little better as we had lunch in a casino and had actually walked into and out of Cambodia.

I had taken a few times on different vans and all of these drivers drove like F1 drivers, and corner at insane speed even on raining days, the problem was they were doing it everyday and became numb like a robot, and trying to improve their cornering at every given opportunies, at the expense of the safety of the passengers, selfish and inconsiderate, just a typically thai attitude.

A combination of an electronic visa for Cambodia, purchased online, and public transportation might be better. The electronic visa reduces the hassle at the border. For transport the yellow bus from Pattaya leaves in the morning from the northern bus station, several departures. Between Aranyaprathet bus station and the border it is a 60-80 baht songtaew or motorbike taxi ride, 6 kms. Return from Aran with a bus to Kabinburi and then change on to a Rayong/Pattaya bus. Last bus leaves Aran at 6 PM.

This will take more time, will save a few baht, is much safer on the bus and you have control of your own time. Aran bus station has very good Thai food. If the line on the Cambodian side is a bit long, take a break walk around the strange place called Poipet. You can pay everywhere with baht. The intrepid Pattaya expert will not fail to inspect the local health spas to relax his back.

I did once one of the so-called visa runs (company named in this thread already, but they are about the same) and a run it was. Never again, driver, other passengers etc made it a memorable experience. Not need to sit for hours next to a piss drunk, stinking, burping person whose only concerns was the number of cans left to the next stations. In other words, not only the drivers should be thought of.

I did plenty of border runs to Cambodia. It never took more then 45 seconds at the border. So, no need for a electronic visa. I never had drunken guys in my group.

So, it seems you had some bad experiences. I only use the service of visa-agents. Easy and fast. Your trip sounds quite complicated. It's only a border-run. Keep it simple.

The return trip from the border is easier than many think.

I posted the bus departure times from the border market next to the immigration check point and from Aranyaprathet in the Cambodia travel section. You can switch buses in Kabinburi, Chaosensao (spelling), the airport, and of course Ekkamai or Morchit. Buses depart between 4 AM and 5.45 PM. Prices range from 265-268 for VIP.

Here is the link to the post and the other website:

I just added another bus connection from the border. This one is interesting as it gets you within 6 hrs with public transport from the border to Pattaya Klang. Total cost 265 baht but I think I slightly overpaid. The 2nd class bus to Chaosensao was very good and fast. The first van to Chonburi also good, just the last van was a bit too fast as so often in Thailand.

In other words, for a max of 500-550 baht anyone can go with comfortable and safe public transport (except the last segment as noted above) to the border and back. The visa cost is known well-enough I think.

This info might come in handy for a one or another guy hurt badly by the Euro drop. 1000 baht more or less might matter.

Same link to the post in the Cambodia section: http://www.thaivisa....s-and-location/

There are certainly other useful and inexpensive connections. For now I post only stuff I have personally tested.

For those worried about entering Cambodia - well your live will celebrate the stop on the other side. I paid for black label 1 litre in Phnom Penh 31.50 USD. Might be a bit more in Poipet but prices are lower in Cambodia than in Thailand. This might be interesting for some. During a regular visa run you wont have time for shopping on the Cambodian side or at the border market and street food market.
