Visa exempt and overstay

Featured Replies

I came in on visa exempt with 30 day validity. The stamp is dated 8th. March for exit. My flight out is 2 am on 9th March. Now I intend to clear immigration before midnight on 8th. My obvious question is will this be classed as an overstay because my flight is on 9th and if so will this be detrimental in any way for future visits to Thailand with an overstay in my passport.

Thanks in advance for any advice you guys can give.

Den

As long as clear immigration prior to midnight on the 8th you will not be on an overstay. Even it was after midnight you would not be fined if you are leaving from one of the airports in Bangkok since it would be less than 24 hours.

An overstay of a day would mean nothing for your future trips or anything else. Even much longer overstays are not a problem.

Thanks for the reply Ubon and it seems to be a positive reply however I am a little confused as you said "As long as clear immigration prior to midnight on the 8th you will be on an overstay" Did you perhaps make a mistake and mean "you will not be on an overstay"?

I am leaving from swampy

Thanks

It says not now. Sorry

The is no overstay fine (500 baht) for one that is less than 24 hours at Suv (bkk). You get a small blue stamp in That stating you had an overstay of less than 24 hours.
