Popular Post ll2
Guys what about the second Thai Visa group ride? Best date should be 8th of March, 2015 or 15th of March, 2015. First one was nice although the routing was not managed nicely and it was rainy a lot. I remember we were like rats:)It was fun though but it was long and little bit too much. Ride is open to everyone with a bike above 150 cc as it will not be a long ride so we can all go slow. I am proposing Sisawat - Kanchanaburi as it can be done in a day or if you guys want it shorter, we can do a Chaam - Huan Hin or Bang Saen ride. Route will be announced before we ride to everyone so we can all check the route at home before. We will have a sweeper system so we will assign a fast guy to sweep everyone coming from behind so no one get lost. No leader - hate the word leader! - but there will be a leadman. No speed limit but minimum speed of 100 kph! proposed routes: Bangkok - Sisawat: Twisties and scenery. https://www.google.co.th/maps/dir/Bangkok/Si+Sawat+District,+Kanchanaburi/@14.2405518,99.4532143,10z/data=!4m19!4m18!1m10!1m1!1s0x311d6032280d61f3:0x10100b25de24820!2m2!1d100.5017651!2d13.7563309!3m4!1m2!1d99.5754956!2d13.9814492!3s0x30e30c92da360d97:0xfb2b59e4799cb2c3!1m5!1m1!1s0x30e40619f6775b6f:0x304fb54b0087af0!2m2!1d99.1013498!2d14.7590649!3e0 Bangkok - Hua Hin: Straight line fast sea food trip! https://www.google.co.th/maps/dir/Bangkok/Hua+Hin,+Hua+Hin+District,+Prachuap+Khiri+Khan/@13.1657015,99.5824488,9z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m14!4m13!1m5!1m1!1s0x311d6032280d61f3:0x10100b25de24820!2m2!1d100.5017651!2d13.7563309!1m5!1m1!1s0x30fdaaf400997211:0x40223bc2c381260!2m2!1d99.9576888!2d12.5683747!3e0 Bangkok - Bang Saen: Again a seafood trip and straight line most of the time. Shortest route and most probably the most reasonable one. https://www.google.co.th/maps/dir/Bangkok/Bang+Saen+Beach,+Saen+Suk,+Chon+Buri+District,+Chon+Buri/@13.3515608,100.6447112,10z/data=!4m14!4m13!1m5!1m1!1s0x311d6032280d61f3:0x10100b25de24820!2m2!1d100.5017651!2d13.7563309!1m5!1m1!1s0x3102b4ba2b345035:0x34fd05894f39415e!2m2!1d100.906776!2d13.293554!3e0 alternatively, we can ride to Thai mx GP dirt races at Thailand Circuit on 8th of March, 2015. I am sure it will be a lot fun too and i think the best option although the ride is short a bit. https://www.google.co.th/maps/dir/Bangkok/Thailand+Circuit+Bang+Phra+Nakhon+Pathom/@13.8976664,100.2055624,12z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m14!4m13!1m5!1m1!1s0x311d6032280d61f3:0x10100b25de24820!2m2!1d100.5017651!2d13.7563309!1m5!1m1!1s0x30e2f73d93169e47:0xaa159a00fac417e3!2m2!1d100.110221!2d14.003377!3e0 so who is in? Please, it is open to everyone, even though some might not like each other here still what happens at TV stays at TV! Last TV ride, i also met with some people normally i dont feel super nice but i figured out during that ride that actually they are also nice guys and it is easy to misunderstand people at forums - bc no eye contact!. Let me know your ideas. Dates and routes can be changed. Thanks. Edited February 24, 2015 by ll2
OmegaRacer
Sounds like a good idea. I'm flexible for both the date and the place, although Kanchanaburi might be a bit too far from where I live (for a day trip).
Gweiloman
Your first route, Bangkok - SiSawat is 269 km one way. Round trip would be over 500 kms. Might be too long a ride. What I might do is Bangkok - Thong Pha Phum - Kanchanaburi (410 km). Overnight. http://goo.gl/maps/MrYpt Reason is that the 323 is made for riding at brisk speeds. Next day, Kan - SiSawat - Bo Phloi - Bangkok (434 km). The cop I met on the SiSawat ferry crossing suggested that this is a nice scenic route (via Bo Phloi) http://goo.gl/maps/C3rvp I will definitely not be up for 15th March as I will be in Europe for meeting. 7-8 March is a possibility though. Shurup
I might be able to make it for the 8th, but it has to be one day ride as I'm flying to Canada for a week, departing on the 9th.
rambling
Hey guys, I'm away 8-14 on vacation. What about the weekends following 21/3 or 28/3? I vote for Bang Saen. P.S. as for pace, I am comfortable with 120-130 kmh. But I don't mind if others want to take off for a while and we catch up a bit later.
H1w4yR1da
The mxgp looks ok. As stated, Sisawat for a 1 dayer is a bit far. But don't really fancy a slow ride. Edited February 24, 2015 by H1w4yR1da
Gweiloman
The mxgp looks ok. As stated, Sisawat for a 1 dayer is a bit far. But don't really fancy a slow ride. No issue. I've been on rides where the group usually splits into two, with a predetermined rendezvous point for lunch and what not.

eisfeld
Nice but unfortunately anything around BKK is too far for me (Phuket). Would be a days ride just to get to the starting point Hope you guys have a safe ride and a great time, enjoy!
guzzi850m2
I will maybe be in, cannot say 100% sure, I got a kid man and he comes first. I am in Pattaya. Today I was out riding 215km on the V, I was in very good company with a friend on a Duke Hyperstrada, we rode Patts-Ko Samet ferry terminal (a beach near by) and back to Pattaya. Had lunch at a place called Buffalo steak house, beach very quiet and some tourists on rented scooters with some fancy sidecars fitted with sofa's and sun roof. Speeds vary all the time, I saw +170 on the clock a couple of times (that Duke is fast man) but mostly around 120-140 and at all times having safe riding as main objective. It was a great trip, my ins. cluster fuel calculator said +22km/l for that trip, not bad man.
WingNut
We could always race from Bangkok to Pattaya and back at sunrise on a Sunday morning leaving the Sukhumvit Bang Na intersection at 6AM and be back in Bangers at 9AM. Then go somewhere in Bangkok together as a group to have pizza for breakfast.

Where's a good place for a pizza breakfast in Bangkok?
WingNut
Yes, Wing is Thai for run or drive. And Nut, well, you already know that part. Since the rules are that the winner of the race will need to buy the pizza for everyone else, you just let me worry about that part. What do you like on your pizza by the way? Haha. Also, more likely we will be back by about 8:30AM and not 9:00AM. Try not to get back later than 9:30AM though or all the pizza might be gone by then already

WingNut
6 am? <deleted> that!! Riding at sunrise is great. I used to ride down to Pattaya all the time a couple of years ago and always leave Bangkok at sunrise. There were often big sport bike groups riding down fast too at that time. By the way, I'll even just ride my 250 to try and make things a bit more interesting, but unfortunately I'll still probably be the one buying everyone pizza. Is pepperoni okay for you? Only when there's 420 km to go.And Saturday night is party night so Sunday not before 9 am. Gweiloman, you coming to WSBK at Buriram in March? WingNut
The earlier you ride, the cooler it is. Just call it "The Beat The Heat" race. If you have trouble waking up at 4:30AM just don't go to sleep the night before. There will be plenty of time to sleep after 10AM. Just watch out for those U-Turning Lorries on the Bang Na highway. They can be a bit painful.

Yes, got my hotel booked Friday - Sun but might stay an extra night (I'm sure it's no problem to get a room on Sun nt as most would be returning on Sun after the race). Havent got my ticket yet but I don't imagine that it would sold out. Does anyone know whether a grandstand ticket would allow me to go to the sidestands? I've got a bunch of friends in the grandstand section as well

ll2
guys lets do the ride on 8th of March as it looks like it is better for everyone. So, now which route? I think visit Thai mx GP gp 8th or a sea food trip to 'bang saen' looks like the most reasonable.
