Wookie
Hi, I am here on my fourth retirement extension and my wife of 7 years is Thai. I have never worked here and therefore have no tax returns. Could I successfully apply for Thai Citizenship? Thanks in advance.

ubonjoe
Because the people that wrote the rules don't think you can contribute to Thai society unless your are working here.
Wookie
Well that sucks I thought applications were accepted on "humanitarian" grounds, one of those being resident in Thailand to support a Thai wife.

Wookie
How about permanent residency then ?

Wookie
OK thanks for the info I'll just keep extending my stay each year based on retirement. It's a quick process anyway.
Mario2008
Technically PR is possible, provided your wife is working and earns at least 30,000 a month. Than you can apply as her dependent. But I would strongly advise to contact immigration first before going this route. It might be possible according to the rules, but does not seem to be advisable and realistically.
