Hi,

I have a 30 day extension on my tourist visa (1st entry of a double entry). It was approved last week. I need to travel outside the country for a wedding this coming weekend. One place I read said I needed to go to immigration to apply for a re-entry permit. Another place said I could arrive early at the airport and it would be granted.

What is the process for this while on a 30-day extension? Will it automatically be granted at the airport? (Don Muang or Suvanabhumi) Or do I need to go to the immigration office again?

You can apply for the re-entry permit at either airport for a fee of 1000 baht (+200 baht service fee at Suv),

It will issued without a problem but it will only be valid to your current permuted to stay date and give you same date you have now when you re-enter the country.

Just be you put the re-entry permit number on your arrival card instead of your visa number.

If applying for re-entry permit at Jomtien, can it be done any day within 7 days of travel date?

Is it normally issued while you wait, come back later, or come back tomorrow?

Thanks.

You can apply for a re-entry permit at any time before the date you plan on traveling. There no max or minimum time.

They are normally done on the same day you apply. I can recall a report of a person having to go back later in the day pick it up.

Sounds good, thank you.
