I saw that. No mention of not being able to buy the homes they were viewing. (Maybe some were condos) No mention of Visas. It was as if they just turn up, buy a house; she gets a job and starts wo

  • The show stated £7,000 a year ^^^^ I think you got that wrong

  • Yep. Very misleading program. Certainly no mention of qualifications or visa issues.

New episode on tonight. A gentleman bored with his lot in UK decides to take his partner to a place called Khanom (never heard of it) just south of Surat Thani.

They planned to buy land and build a B&B resort. A mention that that could only own 49% of the property and a Thai partner would own 51% went in one ear and out of the other. No mention of work permits, that they would have to set up a company and that they would require 8 Thai staff to cover their two work permits. They budgeted for earning 4,000 baht a night in high season per room in Nakhon Nowhere. Neither of the two gentlemen had any cooking skills, or hotel skills; couldn't speak Thai. But they were prepared to sell everything they had in the UK in order to live in a place they had only spent one week of their lives in.

Sounds like House Hunters International. I used to love watching it until I found out it was scripted. Just scripted stories for TV...

It's a programme which is not for you whingers already living there, it's for people to watch and dream. It's reality tv.

I'd rather watch that than watch Benefits Britain any day. Or, my latest, The Real Housewives of Cheshire!! Which is a real eyeopener.

I am sure that this couple will be shown all the ins and outs about living on Phuket if and when they decide to do it. They did not arrive there for a week and stay, they will go home and think about it.
