Friendly bank for account in euros + ATM card

Featured Replies

Hello

I would like to receive incoming wire transfers in euros. And if possible I would like these Euros to be kept in euros, not converted to THB.

Then, I would like to be able to withdraw those EUR with an ATM card when I am in Europe.

Do some bank offer this? Especially as most of the time their english is quite poor, and it is hard to understand what they can or cannot do...

Thank you.

Kalixa Pay if you are from Austria, Germany, Italy or the UK.

I think you'll find that the OP is looking for a Euro account with a Thai bank - you know, in Thailand. He can direct his incoming wire transfers there so they won't be converted from Euro to baht. Then, when he's in Euroland he can access that Euro bank account back in Thailand via the Thai bank's ATM card. I'd have thought it's simpler not to transfer the money in the first place.

Perhaps you can explain the benefits of a Euro account with a Thailand bank, as opposed to my suggestion.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

Foreign currency accounts are quite common in Thailand. This is from Bangkok Bank.

"Foreign Currency Deposit Account for Non-Residents

The account is suitable for foreigners living in Thailand, such as an expat who wants to convert and save their Thai earnings in a foreign currency, or a retiree who would like to hold incoming foreign funds without needing to immediately convert them to baht."
Getting the money out of Thailand should be a lot easier as there should be no need to prove where it came from. We have a Yuan account and can draw money from the ATM in China without a problem.

Indeed, but not such good value when you try to use them in Euroland and elsewhere. Which is why I linked to Euro products, as they are better value within Thailand and beyond.
