Well if there's a 7% of the population are hardcore UDD terrorists according to one bozo on here, that's a paltry 4,500,000-5,000,000 to contend with and fight, that's more than the entire RTA !!!

Some people just talk utter <deleted>!!!

Right place at the right time for the RTA and wrong place and the right time for rhe assailants!!!

If the Reds were close to starting a civil war last April and unless 5 million of them have been arrested and detained and the 1 million plus weapons have been removed from the hands of the bad guys, then seriously if they really really really wanted to destabilise the country they could!!

Couple of high profile attacks on tourists locations send the economy and tourism into free fall, it makes NO SENSE To lob a grenade and shoot up a court house, no sense at all, but it's easy to see that it's easy to point fingers in certain directions to the North East as its another convention way of maintaining martial law isn't it ? ?

You want to make an impact you do it with a spectacular, that's a show of force with serious manpower and weaponry and don't say it's not possible, of course it is if you seriously thought civil war was on the cards!!!!

The grunts got caught not the people that planned this.

Yep. Whereas before, under CAPO the RTP would have simply turned a blind eye or released them as they did on a number of occasions the army are a tad different. The grunts probably won't know what to do now. Wonder if they'll start spilling the beans? Could be interesting.

Another one who has forgotten that the RTA were deployed on the streets early on during the protests, another one who forgot that RTA and RTN SEALs were moonlighting for the protestors too ?

We've been watching these two very closely for a long time...yeah, that's the ticket. And we followed them all the time, but they got away for a minute and lobbed a grenade in...the parking lot. Yeah, that's believable. And afterwards we were right on them - shot one and nabbed the other perp (perp always sounds so damning--hee hee).

No one will ever figure this one out.

Yes really hard to figure this out when normal law enforcement officers should have stop search the car when these folks are under surveillance and are crime suspects before the crime is committed. They choose to watch the crime and made this like a movie scene. Too hard to believe this not another set up by you know who.

Let's not kid ourselves on, every man and his dog knows full well the Reds are more than capable of doing this, but so is anyone with a beef, the Muslims in the south have been doing this all the time down there, this is their MO.

Why would the Reds start now, and why a court house? And at that time of the night?

It's all about convenience and keeping things as they are. Thailand needs a bogeyman/men as it justifies certain actions and issues, this is how you operate in asymmetric warfare, demonise a side enough and it works to your advantage spread enough disinformation it then becomes information, classic stuff.

"Col Winthai said the bomb attack was intended to create unrest in the country, and added that the attack was well planned and in defiance of the law."

Creating "unrest in the country" is a really nicely vague crime. Maybe the military should start locking up the entire Thai population as any one person could potentially intend to create unrest by any means, whether it be a bomb, handsign, slogan, graffiti, etc.

I note that it was troops that made the arrests, seems there is still a way to go before the police can be trusted to do things on their own.

YES ABSOLUTELY! I slipped over that till you pointed it out.

More suspects were involved in court’s attack

More-suspects-were-involved-in-court---s

BANGKOK: -- One of the two suspects arrested for the bomb attack of the Ratchadapisek Criminal Court on Saturday night has implicated a few others for involvement in the incident, including his employer, said Pol Lt-Gen Srivara Rangsipramanakul, commissioner of Metropolitan Police Bureau, on Sunday.

However, he said that warrants for their arrests are yet to be issued until there are more evidences against them.

The commissioner confirmed that the bomb attack which did not cause any injury or damage to the court’s buildings was politically motivated.

He claimed that officers in charge of intelligence learned 3-4 days in advance of a plot by certain political elements to create public disturbance in the City and had kept several suspects under close surveillance.

The two arrested suspects were identified as Mahahin Khunthong who is being detained by the military at the 11th infantry regiment in Bang Khen and Yuthana Yenpinyo who is being treated at Mongkut hospital for bullet wounds.

I would seem one of the 2 resisted arrest and ended up being shot.

We wait with interest to see who the "Employer" is.

15 guesses ?

interesting, reds are convicted in court to jail and all of a sudden we have the courts being attacked with grenades and gunfire, lets see, I wonder who could be responsible for this, ummmmmmwhistling.gif

But loss of photo opportunity later I guess sad.png

But loss of photo opportunity later I guess

Much more, it would be a lost opportunity to get information on who hired them if they're dead.

sure, police still have to investigate to detain the real mastermind - their friends,

they need time to escape to Combodia,

before RTP will not go for arrest them ;

Than we will get BIG NEWS !

100 of police men were on the operation,

but the culptries have left the villa already before ,

in time when RTP informed him,

that they will come now !!

The "RED" Thai police? The junta are in charge of the police. It is martial law not civilian law so that makes the military more responsible for law and order.

Sounds like the employer is well connected if they want to get more evidence before getting a warrant. They got arrest warrants for unidentified people for the shopping centre bomb. If these people have told you who they were working for then go and get them or will this be embarrassing for the government. Just wait until they are silenced and all this will go away.

OR, the caught mug is NOT talking, so they are issuing a few porkies to see who runs.

Right, tip them off before they do anything worth a charge, rather than catch them in the act.

BTW what "car"?

It may be red supporters but doesn't fit thier m.o. As people on here say, the reds are violent and like to cause maximum damage like killing people. Throwing a small explosive into an empty parking lot hardly describes the violent reds. This could also be a junta sanctioned exercise to justify to not only Thailand but also to those world leaders who question why martial law is still required and the military need to hold power and not return to democracy.

Stupid doesn't fit the reds m.o.? Since when?

I can just see the officer saying we need 2 volunteers to be knocked off a bike by a car, one only to be shot 4 times.
